Week 9 Match-up Build-up

GAME OF THE WEEK

Perpetual Dynasty (5-3) VS La Flama Blanca (6-2)
Division supremacy is on the line for this super-sized week 9 match-up. Both of these squads have the look of playoff teams. They are both undefeated in the East Division. Unfortunately, this match-up is not as special as it should be. Peyton, Calvin, Demaryius, Frank, Wes, Julius, and Hakeem are all on bye. This match-up is simply about surviving. La Flama has won four straight games. He is starting to pull away from the rest of the pack. It is important to know that his team has only scored over 124 one time in his last four games. He has benefited from having an easy schedule. He currently holds the easiest schedule in the league. PD is rolling after scoring the most points each of the past two weeks while also scoring over 140 in 4 out of his last 5 games. He has won two straight games even though both opponents he's faced scored the 2nd highest point totals in each week. He has survived having the league's hardest schedule. Teams are averaging an amazing 135 points a game against him. We would like to break down who has the edge in this match-up, but considering that neither team is at full strength, it is impossible to tell. Both teams are looking to obtain a victory by any means possible. We expect their week 12 match-up to have more fireworks, but considering this is the only match-up showcasing two teams above .500 it is the game of the week. The winner moves that much closer to the playoffs while also division supremacy.

2. The Reckoning (4-4) VS Beau-dacious Babes (5-3)
More bye week issues await for this week's number 2 match-up. Decker, Davis, and Cruz are all on bye. The Babes are stumbling. They have averaged 99 points in two straight losses. Bye weeks were their demise last week and they could hurt them again for week 9. The Babes simply need to get healthy and move past their byes. Look for them to start scoring more points in week 10. Reckoning has lost 3 out of 4 after starting the season (3-1). In his last 4 games he has averaged 103 points per game. His loss last week to Weeden and Weep has him pissed off. Reckoning is at their best when their backs are against the wall. Expect him to break out of the gates fast. He may try to exercise some demons in his rematch against Weeden in week 12. Both teams need a victory here. Another tree fitty is on the table. Expect each manager to win at all costs.

3. Tavon and Only (3-5) VS The Real McCoy (4-4)
RIVALS!!!! These two hate each other. Tavon is slipping. He has lost 5 out of 6. OUCH! McCoy continues to be hit or miss. Lynch had 3 points last week!!!! He has scored the 3rd fewest points this season. He has benefited from having the 2nd easiest schedule. The play of kaepernick gives him hope that his team can make a strong push late in the year. If McCoy does not take care of business here, it will damage his playoff chances.

4. El Pollo Loco (4-4) VS Weeden and Weep (3-5)
Loco continues to put up points. Weeden won last week because his opponent scored 79 points. Loco needs to win against an inferior opponent.

5. ShowMeYourTDs (2-6) VS Advantageous Morgans (4-4)
TDs finally put up a good point total last week, but he still lost. The Morgans would have beaten any other team last week but unfortunately he played PD. TDs needs to have a great week if he wants to beat the strong Morgans. We'll see come Sunday.

Week 8 Match-up Build-up

GAME OF THE WEEK

Perpetual Dynasty (4-3) VS Advantageous Morgans (4-3)
The only match-up featuring two teams above (.500) is the best game of week 8. The Morgan's have won 4 out of their last 5 games. They are one of the hottest teams in the league currently. They have shown their championship resolve this season through acquiring productive performers in trades and off of free agency. Brandon Marshall has been the center piece of his team ever since he traded for him, and players like: Knowshon Moreno, Kansas City Defense, and Jordan Reed have all been huge waiver wire pick ups. However, he does maintain the 3rd easiest schedule in the league which has allowed him to win 2 out of his last 4 victories while scoring under 120 points. He is without his band of Chicago players for this week because of bye which will hurt him. PD beat a very competitive El Pollo Loco squad last week. He did it in come from behind fashion. While his RB's have continued to under perform, PD finally got production out of his WR's and TE. Gronk came back from injury and posted 20 points, while Megatron and D. Thomas combined for 55 points. PD has managed to obtain a (4-3) record even though he has had an extremely difficult schedule. It is currently the 2nd toughest in the league, only 1 point behind the toughest held by Weeden and Weep. He has scored over 140 points in 3 out of his last 4 games, a sign that his team is moving in the right direction. He is without Rice and Richardson for this week. He hopes they perform better after a much needed bye week. PD has yet to win or lose back to back games this season, but some managers believe his team could get hot. This is a huge divisional match-up with major playoff implications on the line. Do not miss it.

2. La Flama Blanca (5-2) VS Tavon and Only (3-4)
Divisional combatants strike hard in this week's number 2 match-up. La Flama took down the dreaded Babes last week. It was a signature win for his franchise. He still holds the best record in the East Division. Still, there are some statistics that are concerning for La Flama. He has only scored over 124 points once in his last 5 games. His WR core is wounded because of the loss of Randall Cobb and the poor play of Hakeem Nicks. He needs to secure a win against Tavon to keep the predators at bay in the East Division. It will be tough sledding this week against a good Tavon team. Tavon lost to Flama earlier this year. It was a slug fest that Flama won 141-130. Tavon has been propelled recently by the excellent play of Vincent Jackson. His team is fighting to stay alive. The loss of Doug Martin squarely puts his team behind the eight ball. Imagine what he could have accomplished this year if he did not trade Sproles and Decker. It will be remembered as one of the most boneheaded trades in MFFL history. Still, look for Tavon to give Flama all he can handle in this revenge game. Expect to see some fireworks.

3. The Real McCoy (3-4) VS Beadacious Babes (5-2)
Division pride is on the line in this week 8 match-up. The Babes lost to La Flama last week. It will go down as one of the most hyped match-ups of the 2013 season. The Babes only scored 113 points, their worst output in weeks. His players are having trouble staying healthy. Both Foster and Tate sustained injuries in week 7. He will face McCoy at far less than 100%. Julio, Arian, CJ2K, B. Tate, and Gates are all out because of injuries or bye. The Babes also have the easiest schedule in the league to date. McCoy has to be smelling the blood in the water. There is no better time to face the Babes than this week. McCoy is desperate for a victory. He is by far the most unpredictable team in the league. If he beats the Babes he will gain confidence. If he loses, it will crush his spirits. The two biggest questions for this match-up seem to be: are the Babes fading and is McCoy a playoff team? The Babes can answer their question with a victory. McCoy needs to string together consistent games to answer his.

4. El Pollo Loco (3-4) VS ShowMeYourTDs (2-5)
Are the TDs climbing out of their hole? No. He won last week by scoring 93 points, second fewest in the league. It is one of the luckiest wins in MFFL history. Loco lost a tough game against PD last week. He continues to be competitive, but he needs to prove that his team has not been carried by the league's 2nd easiest schedule. We expect a bounce back victory from Loco as he keeps his playoff hopes alive. TD will try to make the consolation bracket at year's end.

5. The Reckoning (4-3) VS Weeden and Weep (2-5)
Weeden has yet to make a single move this season. His week 4 (161-155) victory over PD was an absolute fluke. The Reckoning came from behind to beat Tavon (130-128) last week. Reckoning is thanking his lucky stars after Andrew Luck and Eric Decker combined for 61 points. What would his team have been if he did not trade for Decker and Sproles? Look for a less stressful victory out of Reckoning this week.

Week 7 Match-up Build-up

GAME OF THE WEEK

La Flama Blanca  (4-2) VS Beau-dacious Babes (5-1)
Division leaders square off in week 7's game of the week. Not many managers expected these two teams to be in the lead at this point in the season. Babes had the biggest win of their MFFL career last week. He smashed PD, winning 141-69. His team is simply on fire. Flama got a two point victory over McCoy last week 118-116. His team needs to score more than 118 if he plans to compete with the Babes. Flama will be without Randall Cobb until week 15. He may end up cutting him. It is a massive blow to his team. The Babes are still dealing with the loss of Julio Jones for the rest of the season as well. While it has not hurt his team to this point, many still believe it is bound to. It may not matter because Desean Jackson leads all receivers in points scored, but is that a trend destined to continue? We have seen hot starts in the MFFL before, many of them have been mirrored by cold endings. Both of these teams must continually improve in order to ensure that their hot starts are not forgotten. This match-up should be super close.

2. Perpetual Dynasty (3-3) VS El Pollo Loco (3-3)
The next three match-up break downs feature (3-3) teams. They are all evenly important and anticipated. This match-up however features two rivals pitted against each other, making it slightly more anticipated. PD is looking to rebound after a 69 point performance last week. He hopes to unleash the NASTY in dynasty. His team is loaded with big names like, Peyton Manning, Calvin Johnson, Demaryius Thomas, Ray, Rice, Trent Richardson, Alfred Morris, and Rob Gronkowski. The problem is that many of them are playing the worst football of their careers. PD hopes his players start performing like they have in the past. Loco is coming off of a big win over The Reckoning. He needed his stars to show up and they did. He is also being carried by the excellent play of Justin Blackmon. Neither manager is separated by better match-ups or bye weeks, so look for this game to be a slug fest. A win is not necessary for either team since it is a non divisional game, but a victory would still go a long way.

3. Adavantageous morgans (3-3) VS The Real McCoy (3-3)
Two storied franchises clash in this week 7 match-up. Both managers know each other very well. The Morgan's have won 3 out of 4. His team has started to turn the corner, led by the 3 Bear's Cutler, Marshall, and Forte. The Morgans have consistently had good starts at the beginning of the year, but the trend is for them to fall off the pace. They will need to continue to improve in order to keep up with a competitive East Division. McCoy lost by only two points in week 6, but it was fortunate his opponent only scored 118 or it could have been worse. McCoy is hoping that his team performs as they did last season. Kaepernick, Bryant, Garcon, and Lynch all had huge second halves to the season. If that happens again, his team could be getting hot at the right time just like last season. The vegas money will be on the Morgans, but McCoy can strike at any moment.

4. The Reckoning (3-3) VS Tavon and Only (3-3)
Two teams needing to establish an identity butt heads in this week 7 match-up. The Reckoning have lost two in a row. He comes into this match-up quoted as saying, "this is my least favorite line-up ever started." It seems the chips are stacked against him. However, Reckoning is at his best when he has something to prove. Look for him to come out swinging. Tavon finally got a win last week, his first since week 2, but it came against a 1 win TDs squad. His identity previously was his RB core of Bush, Sproles, and Martin. Sproles was traded and Martin has been a bust. He needs to find the strong point of his team and use it to exploit his opponents. Both teams will compete all year, but both managers need a win badly.

5. Weeden and Weep (2-4) VS ShowMeYourTDs (1-5)
Buy a bullet and rent a gun.

Week 6 Match-up Build-up

GAME OF THE WEEK

Perpetual Dynasty (3-2) VS Beau-dacious Babes (4-1)
Division leaders take aim at each other for this mega match-up. The Babes have been the class of the West Division to start the season. His (4-1) record is the best in the league and he has been crushing people on the score board. His team has been carried by his starters all season. The number one question has always been: how will babes respond to adversity? He now has a chance to answer that question because of the devastating loss of Julio Jones, likely for the rest of the season. However, starting Victor Cruz and Desean Jackson will still give him one of the best WR duos in the league. Babes has the talent to win games and he is still expected to compete for a playoff spot. He is without Matt Ryan this week because of his bye week, but that could be a blessing considering both Julio and Roddy are hurt.
Last Week's Game of the Week lived up to the hype. Both managers had some star performances as well as some duds. In the end, PD defeated Reckoning (140-126). It was a big win for the PD franchise. They hope to build momentum as their schedule turns towards divisional opponents. It looks like Rob Gronkowski is finally ready to lace-em up and hit the field for the first time in a PD uniform. Gronk could take PD's team to the next level if he performs at the pace he is accustom to. He won last week without having the services of Calvin Johnson. It is a trend that is unlikely to continue so PD hopes Megatron will get healthy soon. The WR's and RB's seem to be pretty close for this match-up, so keys for both teams will be their QB, TE, and FLEX. For all these reasons and more, this match-up is the best of the week.

2. La Flama Blanca (3-2) VS The Real McCoy (3-2)
Two teams trying to reach the tops of their divisions square off in the number two match-up of week 6. McCoy is sitting pretty at (3-2). It was only a week ago when he was starring down the barrel of a (1-3) start. His stat correction victory over TD's has completely changed his season for the better. His team remains inconsistent but as a whole they are playing much better football. If he wants his team to reach a higher level of performance he will need more production out of Colin Kaepernick. La Flama has a star studded cast of characters. Rodgers, Cobb, Welker, McCoy, and J. Thomas present problems for any team he goes up against. He is an absolute contender for the playoffs. Both managers hope to move to (4-2) after big wins a week ago. The winner of this match-up will flirt with division leader status. Both teams look strong moving forward regardless of the result.

3. The Reckoning (3-2) VS El Pollo Loco (2-3)
Division pride is on the line in this number 3 match-up. El Pollo Loco has 2 straight losses. His team is simply not performing. He made a big trade this week acquiring C.J. Spiller from PD. If Spiller explodes in the second half of the season (as is his tradition) then Loco may have struck gold. In order for Loco to consistently get wins he will have to depend on his top players, Newton, Green, and Charles. Loco also hopes the return of Amendola will add some much needed PPR points to his lineup. Reckoning is trying to move forward after a close loss to PD. His team is not going anywhere as they will contend for the playoffs all year. His savvy game day management has been the backbone of his team all season, but Reck is hoping his star RB's can make his job easier by performing more consistently each week. Both teams are locked and loaded as neither manager is facing significant bye week blues. This match-up is huge for both managers. They must keep pace in a competitive West Division.

4. Weeden and Weep (2-3) VS Advantageous Morgans (2-3)
Two managers wanting a mulligan from last week battle in this week 6 match-up. Both teams have shown the ability to win games early in the season, but as the weeks pass and the schedule gets tougher both managers will have to work hard to keep the pace. Weeden's lack of effort will hinder him all season, while the Morgans will continue to make moves trying to improve their roster. A victory for the Morgans is not unexpected here.

5. ShowMeYourTDs (1-4) VS Tavon and Only (2-3)
Yikes! Interesting match-up here. TDs finally got their first win of the season last week. He received immediate benefits from the additions of Woodhead and Wayne. He just has to take it week by week. Tavon is sinking fast. His team lacks star power. Tavon can keep his team afloat with a win which would make him (3-3). Unfortunately for him, one manager is fading while the other is trending upwards. Vegas betters know who to take here.

Week 5 Match-up Build-up

GAME OF THE WEEK

Perpetual Dynasty (2-2) VS The Reckoning (3-1)
A match-up between the two most dominant teams from last season headlines the week 5 match-ups. The season has changed but both PD and Reckoning hope to maintain the status quo. Simply put, most managers around the league view PD and Reckoning as the two best and anytime these managers clash the league stops to watch. As is the norm, Reckoning is winning a lot of games to start the season. His game day decisions have been flawless. His acquisition of Darren Sproles and Eric Decker have already paid dividends as they combined for 44 points a week ago. PD scored the second most points in the league last week (155) but he still lost. It was the most points scored in a losing effort in MFFL history. PD is a notorious slow starter, but this is the time of the year when his fortunes tend to change and he goes on a roll. Reckoning has Antonio Brown on bye, but most of his starters are ready to roll against PD. PD will more than likely not have the services of C.J. Spiller and Gronk, but the acquisition of Greg Olsen should help. The key player match-ups to watch are Peyton vs Pryor and Olsen vs Graham. Reckoning needs Pryor to keep pace with Peyton, while PD hopes Olsen can keep pace with Graham. Both managers view this game as a measuring stick. The winner of this match-up will become the team to beat moving forward.

2. Weeden and Weep (2-2) VS Beau-dacious Babes (3-1)
Managers who are turning heads around the league square off in this week's number 2 match-up. Weeden has beaten McCoy and PD in back to back weeks. Babes is simply on fire. Something has to give. Both managers have their starters for this week. Their starting lineups can compete with any team. The key will be managing stress when bye weeks and injuries occur. This match-up will be close, so get your popcorn ready.

3. El Pollo Loco (2-2) VS The Real McCoy (2-2)
If not for a stat correction, this match-up would not have been as anticipated. McCoy successfully completed the cheapest way to obtain a victory, stat correction. He lost by one put on Monday night, but by Thursday morning a stat correction had given him the victory. It has completely shifted his season outlook. Current trends would indicate that his team is due for a down week, but this stat correction could spark a season revitalization. Bye weeks and injuries have Loco behind the eight ball for this week. The player battle to focus on is Cam VS Colin. Whoever wins the QB battle could win the match-up all together. Who knows what to expect from this game, but it should be interesting.

4. La Flama Blanca (2-2) VS Tavon and Only (2-2)
Sinking ships hope to stay afloat for this match-up. There is a sense that while other teams are improving these teams remain stagnant. However, the season is far from over for either manager. The winner gains confidence while the loser watches their ship sink further into despair.

5. ShowMeYourTDs (0-4) VS Advantageous Morgans (2-2)
The Morgans are catching their stride. They are looking like a real contender. While his team continues to improve, TDs is flabbergasted. He thought he had achieved his first victory of the season, but a stat correction Thursday morning crushed his spirits. If the Morgans want to be considered a contender they will have to beat a struggling TDs team.
