Week 15 Match-Up Build-Up

PLAYOFF GAME OF THE WEEK

2. Perpetual Dynasty VS 3. La Flama Blanca

Perpetual Dynasty Resume

East Division Champion
Record: (11-3)
Divisional Record (7-1)
Total Points: 2079
PPGA: 149
Top 5 Weeks: 236, 196, 191, 186, 170
SOS: 3rd Easiest

Perpetual Dynasty is the only team to make the playoffs every season during the MFFL's existence. They have three straight 11 win regular seasons. Based on the points they have scored, it can be argued that this is the best team they have ever assembled. Their reward for such success...a third straight difficult playoff draw. Even with all of their accolades, one trend remains, they cannot win the big game. Their 3 losses this year came at the hands of three of the best teams, during the biggest weeks. They have lost two straight opening round playoff match-ups. Something, it would seem, has to give. The league has never seen a team enter the playoffs this hot. PD has scored at least 160 points in five of six games, and at least 170 in four of six. The playoffs are a new animal. Everything is left to prove for this perpetual dynasty.

La Flama Blanca Resume

East Division Runner Up
Record: (10-4)
Divisional Record: (6-2)
Total Points: 2015
PPGA: 144
Top 5 Weeks: 183, 164, 164, 156, 153
SOS: 4th Toughest

Few managers in all of fantasy football can perform as well, a year after winning a championship. La Flama has enjoyed massive success in consecutive years to cement themselves as a top tier manager in the notorious MFFL. Frank Sinatra once said, "I did it my way." Flama has embodied that. Their managing style is truly unique. They are not flashing in trades or pick ups, evidenced by their excess of waiver cash. They map a plan and implement it to perfection. They have been the most consistent team all season, never scoring under 120. They have not scored under 135 in five straight weeks. As is the case with PD, Flama's reward for all their success is cruel in its nature. They are match-up with Perpetual Dynasty for the first round of the 2014 MFFL playoffs. This all important rubber match plays for keeps, as a championship appearance awaits the victor.

The best playoff game ever designed will be showcased in week 15. Where will you be when the fates of titans are decided.

1. The Real McCoy VS 4. Whitner Wonderland

The Real McCoy Resume

West Division Champion
Record: (12-2)
Divisional Record: (6-2)
Total Points 1907
PPGA: 136
Top 5 Weeks: 183, 161, 154, 152, 147
SOS: #1 Easiest

The only new participant in the 2014 playoffs, as compared to 2013, enters as the #1 seed. The Real McCoy had the most regular seasons wins of al time in 2014. Sure their easy schedule allowed this to happen, but anytime a team scores 136 points a game, they will go down as one of the best teams ever. Their unnatural consistency has put them in a position to make a second championship game in three years. A team that was called out in the off season, responded with one of the best years ever. No one now questions this manager's motivation, talent, and success. McCoy understands how the perception could change if they are to lose in week 15; their success will be deemed a beneficiary of their lucky nature. While McCoy accepts the notion they have have been perhaps the luckiest manager throughout their MFFL career, one thing they will not accept is the idea that their success was built on a foundation of anything other than hard work and skill. Two championships in three years would swiftly put an end to any other perceptions.

Whitner Wonderland Resume

West Division Runner Up
Record: (9-5)
Divisional Record: (6-2)
Total Points: 1674
PPGA: 120
Top 5 Weeks: 148, 147, 147, 137, 134
SOS: 5th Toughest

The surprise member of the playoffs for a second consecutive season takes on the #1 seed in week 15. Whitner actually entered the playoffs in 2013 with less points than this year, suggesting they may be a better team in 2014, even though the difference is negligible. Led to the playoffs in 2013 by Josh Gordon, Whitner adopted the same model for this season, allowing Julio Jones to carry them down the stretch. The question on everyones mind...will Julio play in week 15? The answer could determine the match-up. Whitner will be a big underdog, a role they have relished over the last two years. Two straight playoff appearances speaks for itself. They are a team to take seriously year after year.

Will the curse of the #1 seed be broken? Tune in Sunday for the answer.
