Week 8 Match-Up Build-Up

GAME OF THE WEEK

The Real McCoy vs The Advantageous Morgans
Two teams trying to pull away from the pack set the tone for the week 8 match-ups. The Real McCoy have won 4 straight games. They have defied the odds each of the last three weeks as they have acquired victories in games they themselves thought they would lose. The fact is this team is second in the league in points and they need to be respected. They are only one game out of the top spot in the West Division. It has been a team effort each week since the Charles injury and they seemingly have a player step up every time they need it. McCoy's days as the underdog most weeks may have come to an end.
The Morgans are back to their winning ways after a huge victory against TDs in week 7. They took the early lead in the battle for the East Division. Their WR core is scary and the Phillip Rivers train has been rolling all season. There are hungry teams below them in the East Division and The Morgans must keep winning in order to keep the sharks at bay. The Morgans have predictably bounced back this year after a down 2014 and their goals are set high for the rest of the season.
One of these teams will be (6-2) by the end of this match-up. The Playoffs will be one step closer. These are two of the best teams in the league this season. Period.

2. Perpetual Dynasty vs Tavon and Only
A match-up long in the waiting is on display for week 8. This East Division clash has been circled by each of these managers once the draft was concluded. On paper to start the season these two teams seemed destined to battle it out for the East. Entering week 8 Tavon is coming off of their first win in 4 tries and their confidence is back. The explosion of their running backs has spear headed a new found fear in Tavon's roster. This week tavon will take the field against the hottest team in the league over the last two weeks.
PD has scored 175 and 180 in consecutive weeks. Their roster is starting to perform up to their expectations. The loss of Arian Foster is one that cannot be understated. PD has tried to revamp their RB core on the fly and this week they are faced with the task of competing against one of the best RB duos over the last two weeks. No one wants to face this team now that PD's early season poor circumstances may be behind them.
This is a huge game for both managers as they try to keep the pace in the East Division.

3. El Pollo Loco vs Unstopa-Bo
Unstopa-Bo's poor circumstances have maintained throughout the year. They scored their highest point total this year last week and they still lost to PD. One has to think their luck will change but Bo has to wonder if this hell of a season will ever turn for the better. Bo's season long poor luck may only be matched by Loco's career long bad luck. Loco has won two in a row and they are right in the thick of a playoff race. By the end of this week neither team will be deserving of their record were they to lose. The loser of this match-up will continue to live in a cloud of poor fortune. The winner clears the skies a bit.

4. Imperium vs Whitner Wonderland
Imperium suffered their first loss last week. Their season long worries about their roster finally revealed themselves last week. Imperium's spirits are down but their goals are all still in sight. Theoretically it will only take two more wins for Imperium to secure a playoff spot, and once the playoffs start, throw roster's and points out the window. Whitner has a strong team. They are 5th in points but 9th in the standings. A win over Imperium will keep their season afloat.

5. La Flama Blanca vs ShowMeYourTDs
TDs is 4th in the standings but 9th in points. Sound familiar? Flama may get Dez back this week and their roster will break hearts of other managers once they get fully healthy.

Week 7 Match-Up Build-Up

GAME OF THE WEEK

Perpetual Dynasty vs Unstopa-Bo
A mega match-up stands atop the week 7 most anticipated games. Unstopa-Bo has scored at least 140 points in every game but one this season. This type of start to the season has never been seen before. Simply put, this is the most dominating performance we have ever seen to start a season. And yet….this team is (3-3). Their horribly bad luck has been keeping them from demoralizing the entire league this season. If this pace continues, they will crush the previous toughest season schedule by a country mile. Still, this team has to be feeling confident entering week 7. They have been scoring points and they are only one game out of 4th place in the league. If this team continues to put up points they will be fine. Their ridiculous bad fortunes will change, probably quickly. This team has been one of the best of all time to start a season, do not let their record foul you.
Speaking of not letting records foul you, look no further than perpetual Dynasty. They are currently (2-4) but many people around the league feel their roster is about to explode. They certainly have a lot of name value and last week that correlated into the highest point total in the league for this young season. PD is hoping that their poor fortune to start the season will turn into some good luck down the stretch. PD has key players on bye this week but no one will be cutting PD slack as they will still be rolling out Brown, Johnson, and Evans as their starting WRs. PD finally had a coming out party a week ago and this week they hope to  keep the momentum rolling against one of the league’s best teams.
All eyes of the MFFL will be fixed on this game. A win for Unstopa-bo will be another notch in the belt for one of the best starts to a season ever. A win for PD will be their second in a row, and hopefully one of many in a potential climb back into relevance. Even with both teams combining for a (5-7) record entering this match-up, the stage is set for one of the most anticipated games in league history. Division members on both sides will not want to play either of these teams after this week.

2. Imperium vs The Real McCoy
Brother vs Brother. Every year this match-up stands as a singular entity in the scope of fantasy football. It is a rivalry/non rivalry like no other. A loss on either side sticks with the opposing manger all season and into the off season. Trying to continue to build separation in the all time record against McCoy is Imperium. There is nothing more to say about this franchise. They are (6-0) and this week they can tie the best start to an MFFL season with a victory. (8-0) is so close Imperium can taste it. This has been a special season for Imperium and their sights are set on a playoff birth and setting league records.
The Real McCoy have picked themselves to lose for two straight weeks, and for two straight weeks they have acquired wins. They entered last week with poor spirits heading into Monday night, but Odell did what ODB does and that’s score points. This week McCoy has their Bengals players on bye leaving the door open for Impeium to strike. McCoy needs to have more confidence in this roster that is balling out for them even without the services of Charles. A win here for McCoy would give them all the confidence they need.
Both managers hate losing to one another. It is a loss that lingers. The energy and determination both managers have for this game is singularly focused. So much is on the line, record streaks, playoff positioning, pride, joy, and bragging rights. What more is there to say.

3. ShowMeYourTDs vs The Advantageous Morgans
Its not often to see a combined (8-4) record as the third best game of the week. That’s the nature of the mega match-ups for week 7. These two teams stand atop the East division. TDs got a huge win over their rival in week 6, Unstopa-Bo, and they now look to take sole possession of 1st place in the East. TDs again this season improved their roster following the first few weeks of the season, but now they actually have wins to stand on. This team is poised to make their first playoff appearance since 2012, as they are one of the most talented teams this season.
The Morgans fell short in week 6, unable to give Imperium their first loss of the season. As predicted they still have the East Division lead even with the defeat. Their team performed well and The Morgans continue to feel better and better about their roster with each passing week. This starting lineup is one of the most balanced in the league. The Morgans feel like they have a real contender for this season and it is easy to see why.
This is a huge match-up. Both managers are confident as they try to start (5-2) in 2015.

4. El Pollo Loco vs Whitner Wonderland
Two teams undeserving of the records will try to steady the ship in week 7. Loco needs to get injured players back into their lineup, while Whitner will try to build momentum after a big win in week 6. This is a hugely important game for both managers. Do not forget how teams tend to reshape their fortunes after the mid way point and either one of these squads could go on a huge run.

5. La Flama Blanca vs Tavon and Only
Both teams need to get a win. The talent on both rosters is there, it just has not been correlating with positive results. This match-up again features two teams needing to secure a path for their season.

Week 6 Match-Up Build-Up

GAME OF THE WEEK

The Advantageous Morgans vs Imperium
The top two teams in the league are the main event for rivalry week #1 in the MFFL. All Imperium does is win. They are (8-1) in their last nine games dating back to last season. Their undefeated start to the season has been incredible especially considering the state of their franchise following the draft. Imperium has only two players remaining from their drafted team, Hopkins and Hauschka, proving just how much Imperium disliked the players they selected. This group of road warriors has gone to bat all season long for this team, and Imperium is extremely thankful. Their match-up this week is against one of the best teams in the league, Advantageous Morgans. The Morgans and Imperium always play tough with only one game separating this traditional rivalry. Imperium will continue to be confident until someone proves they should not be. A (5-0) start for a team that has already proven they can improve their roster after the draft is simply impressive, and the league must settle in for a season with Imperium as one of the top dogs.
The Morgans have worked miracles as well this season. They were not satisfied with their work in the draft but they worked hard to change it. Now they insert Antonio Gates as a weekly starter to make their team that much more imposing. The one concern for the morgans may be their RB situation entering this week as on paper it does not look to be strong. The Morgans always come to play against Imperium and its expected to be a shootout come Sunday. The Morgans are great at bouncing back after poor season's and this year they have stormed to the front of the East division.
Both teams look to be fully loaded for this one, outside of the Morgan's RBs. Both teams will likely remain atop their divisions regardless of the outcome but a combined (9-1) record makes this the best match-up of the week. Imperium is trying to set a new unbeaten record, surpassing their (7-0) start in 2012. To do so they need three more victories in a row. The Morgans will look to break the streak. After all, it was the morgans last year that started Imperium's five game losing streak. Ya....Its personal for both teams.

2. ShowMeYourTDs vs Unstopa-Bo
One of the closest rivalries every season headlines the 2nd best game of the week. No team is as hot as Unstopa-Bo. They continue to put up unbelievable numbers in route to their 3rd straight victory. More impressive is the fact that Unstopa-bo has already gone through Brady, Gronk and Peterson bye weeks. The most feared team in the league takes on a squad always ready to throw down with the Bo man, but Unstopa-Bo looks unstoppable.
TDs has failed to score over 107 in three straight games. They have to turn it around before teams like PD and LFB find a way to get some victories. They have responded well following the loss of Romo but they need better production from their flex and TE spots. They added more talent and depth this week acquiring Hilton and Demarco. If those two can play well, TDs will have one of the best teams in the league.

3. Tavon and Only vs The Real McCoy
Tavon has been looking forward to this match-up all season. It is their top desire to beat the team synonyms with beating them. Tavon has been up and down all year and the Julio injury seems to be getting worse not better. They insert Olsen and Ivory back into their lineup after byes and they hope to get better performances all over after a tough game in week 5. Tavon feels their team has been doomed with poor circumstances all season. A win here could help them gain confidence.
McCoy currently sits 4th in the league but they continue to feel disrespected league wide. They lost Charles for the season last week but they remain confident. Their inability to get trades accomplished has caused much frustration for them. McCoy knows their bread and butter is not trades as their teams typically pay the bills with their moves in free agency. They stick with players all season even when they're not performing well, and its been a successful strategy leading to championships. A few small deals here and there could help McCoy make another playoff run this season.

4. Perpetual Dynasty vs El Pollo Loco
Loco got a much needed win last week. This week they face their rival PD. They hate the fact that they have to play PD twice a year. They are actually hoping Big Ben stays out this week so Antonio Brown wont be improved for Loco's opponent. A win for Loco would be a huge step in garnering more wins.
If PD loses they are (1-5). They are currently last in the league with the fewest points scored.

5. Whitner Wonderland vs La Flama Blanca
One team will be (1-5). Its been a tough year for both teams.

Week 5 Match-Up Build-Up

GAME OF THE WEEK

Perpetual Dynasty vs The Real McCoy
Two of the most decorated managers in The MFFL headline the week 5 match-ups. The Real McCoy bounced back last week in typical fashion. This team knows how to win following a loss. They feel like their squad is not garnering even respect league wide, even though the league pickem selections each week paint a different story. McCoy is one of the most heavily picked teams to win each week. Their starting lineup is extremely good and their bench has taken shape throughout the season. Alternating wins and losses is nothing new for McCoy, but this week presents an interesting opportunity for this franchise. They play a team with a lot of name value, but actual value has been below form. McCoy will enter week 5 confident after a win, and facing a team struggling to find their way is a welcomed sight for the League’s defending Champion.
PD lost for a consecutive time last week for only the 2nd time in their franchise’s history. PD not only lost but their lineup laid a smelly egg. Not one person in their starting lineup scored a touchdown, and on the season they have zero rushing touchdowns to their credit. That’s right, in 4 weeks PD has yet to have a starting RB score a touchdown. While other managers may look at this team with envy PD is having trouble finding confidence. They fact remains that this season has been a disaster and until their lineup starts producing PD will not be confident in any match-up. They made a big trade this week acquiring many risky players, but PD is (1-3) and they needed to make a move for their sanity.
McCoy has beaten PD more times than not and looking at the match-up on paper McCoy's players are performing much better. A (1-4) start for PD would be unfathomable, but highly possible. McCoy can set their course towards progress with a win against one the league’s perceived strongest, albeit underperforming team.  The match-up is going to be electric and very unpredictable. Do not miss it.

2. Tavon and Only vs Imperium
Two teams not afraid to voice their opinions will look for bragging rights in week 5. Tavon has been way up and way down in alternating weeks throughout the season. They have a lineup capable of great things but anticipating their talent week to week has been a difficult task. Tavon expects a lot from their roster every week and underperforming participants are quickly dismissed from their starting lineup. If this team and manager can find some balance and equilibrium then they will be a force destined for great things. Unfortunately for them, they play a team that has made teams unbalanced all season. They play Imperium, a buzzsaw personified, without the services of Ivory or Olsen.
Anyone who has tried to take Imperium down this season has been seen home with their tail between their legs,  with missed opportunities or unfortunate circumstances. Last week saw PD score zero touchdowns against Imperium. Until last week however Imperium had never scored below 120, and no one scored points last week as Imperium’s 101 points would have beaten half of the league. Trying to improve after a (4-0) start Imperium made a trade to acquire Eddie lacy on Monday. When is the last time an undefeated team traded for such a high caliber player? This team’s mojo is on a historic high. Imperium always improves with time and now the league has given them a 4 game head start. Look out.
Until star players start performing against Imperium and Imperium’s magic touch with their roster week to week slows down, it's hard to envision a team pulling away in any match-up against them. Still, this week could offer that team as Tavon is due for a bounce back performance. Who knows what's on the docket here.

3. Unstopa-Bo vs La Flama Blanca
Two teams heading in different directions are pinned for the number 3 match-up of the week. Bo has been scoring all season and now they have some wins to show for it. They won last week without the services of Brady and Gronk proving how talented they really are. Bo's new found dedication has paid off and they look like a serious contender for 2015. No one wants to play unstopa-Bo.
La Flama is trying to rebound after 3 straight losses. Their team has not been able to withstand the loss of Dez Bryant. Expectations are for LFB to turn it around and depend on young players to get better as the season gets older.

4. Advantageous Morgans vs Whiter Wonderland
Whitner has started 2015 with some poor circumstances. They scored the second most points in the league last week but lost. They predictably got into a hole to start the year without the services of Bell, but they are still very talented. They will continue to improve as Whitner always finds ways to win games in this league.
The Morgans continue to win games to start 2015. They have jumped to an early lead in the East division. Their lineup gets better almost every week as the Morgans are one of the most underrated lineup artist's in the league.

5. El Pollo Loco vs ShowMeYourTDs
Loco's injury curses and poor luck in this league are beyond ridiculous at this point. They predictably lost to McCoy last week and Loco has to feel like they are on repeat. Hopefully the potential returns of Lynch and Edelman can help them right the ship.

TD's won last week scoring 88 points. They do this all the time. Dr. Squeeze strikes again.
