Match-Up Build-Up Week 3

The west division currently holds 3 unbeatens while the East is knee deep in a bloodbath. Week 3 allows for early separation and position jockeying. After a week that saw major injuries to many MFFL teams, so much is left to be decided and revealed.

1. El Pollo Loco (2-0) vs Unstopa-Bo (2-0)
Overview: The unquestioned top game of the week matches iron with iron, as an old fashioned western division battle sets the stage.
Team Notes: El Pollo Loco has been the most dominate team to start this season, averaging 163 points per week over the first two. It is an unbelievable start, orchestrated by their star selection Patrick Mahomes. Much of the lineup is set for the long haul, with firepower across each position. A potential weak spot is the depth and lack of true #1 at WR. Boyd and Godwin have played great but Loco is worried about their ceilings moving forward, though their floors are still great. This franchise has been in the top tier over the last two seasons, and this season's start cements their quality even further. They have never won the West, but a win here puts them at (3-0) and in poll position to do just that.
UB is (2-0) as well but sits at 5th in total points. They have benefited from a soft early season schedule. Now their top target is under question as Thomas has to play two months without HOF QB Brees. It is a damaging blow to a team already struggling for firepower. Still, the depth of this squad is a real strength, especially at WR. UB looks on track to have their best season since back to back championship appearances in 2015 and 2016.
Game Notes: UB is road heavy and has multiple players in the later time slots.
Match-up breakdown:
Loco- (++++,---,=) Up and down, so good some bad.
UB- (------,==) Good luck finding one good match-up this week. Brutal.
Key Battle: Engram vs Kelce
Loco has a significant edge in match-ups and overall firepower. They enter this game as the favorite. Regardless of result both teams look like contenders in 2019 and each are ready to put on a show. Sit back and enjoy!

2. GrabbingThemTDs (1-1) vs Tavon and Only (1-1)
Overview: Two teams fighting for east division position square off in a must win for both sides.
Team Notes: TDs won last week but only scored 101 points. They benefited from a rare down week from TPD. It was a crucial win regardless, and they hope the squad can start playing with more explosiveness. They have been hesitant to make moves so far this season, showing great faith in the drafted capital. Unfortunately some of their studs have murky futures. Conner is hurt and no longer has Ben, while Baker has looked lost in two starts this season. Their faith is well placed but they may perhaps need to shake things up a bit more than anticipated to start this season. This is another key game in the ever competitive east division.
Tavon also got in the win column last week, surviving having to play Dalvin and Lamar who both had huge weeks for their opponent. Luckily for Tavon the rest of LFB's squad did not perform. Tavon is still rolling with two Viking WRs in their lineup and question marks loom for their RBs and now TE, who was injured on Monday night. This team's future is still extremely hard to predict. They need to keep winning early, especially if some of the red flags prove to be valid.
Game Notes: Both teams are heavy late.
Match-up breakdown:
TDs- (+,----,===) The match-ups look unfavorable for TDs
Tav- ( +++++,--,=) Much better match-ups than TDs
Key Battle: There are so many spots to split hairs at, but Adams vs Julio could decide it.
Both teams have something to prove, a win would go a long way. Hugely important battle here.

3. The Perpetual Dynasty (1-1) vs Baker's Chubbin (0-2)
TPD has come out of the gates slow to start 2019. Outside of a few blow ups in week 1, the lineup simply isn't producing. They continue to make moves in an effort to improve upon poor play but so far it has yet to show earth shattering results. The season is young, and TPD is no stranger to slow beginnings. Expect a classic TPD surge to begin some time soon.
Chubbin could not have started the season off any worse. After a bad 2018, they've scored the 2nd fewest points and hold the leagues toughest schedule early on in 2019. So much of the same for this franchise unfortunately. Still, talent remains on this roster. They have to win this game, as an (0-3) start would be devastating. They have the talent to do so, and may be catching TPD before their typical peak.

4. La Flama Blanca (1-1) vs The Glorious Morgans (0-2)
LFB looked destined to score loads of points last week after Lamar and Dalvin blew up in the 1:00pm games, but their squad did not deliver the rest of the way in a losing effort. The lineup is still strong however, and right now they look like the best team in the east division to start this season.
The Morgans (0-2) start is a stark contrast to the dominance they have displayed each of the last 3 seasons. The troubling beginning will not sit will with this franchise and expect them to do whatever it takes moving forward to find more success. They have a deep bench which will help them for the long haul. It would be best for this proud franchise to remain patient and trust their players to play better soon. The loss of Brees and DJ, for a time, last week torpedoed any chance at victory.

5. The Real McCoy (2-) vs Imposing Monstrosity (0-2)
McCoy seemingly never gets anyone's best shot. It happened again last week and has been a theme for this franchise throughout the league's history. Dak remains the pickup of the year so far this season and talent across the board makes this team a contender again. The question remains will this team ever face somebody at their best. If not, this team will roll once more.
Stros' injury situation continues to pile up and the start to this season has been an unmitigated disaster. If McCaffrey and Evans play the way they did in week 2 this team is doomed. Improved play should be expect, though perhaps not this week as they play McCoy.
