Don't look now but the West Division has three (4-2) teams, none of which are TRM. The East conversely has three (2-4) teams.
1. El Pollo Loco (4-2) vs The Real McCoy (2-4)
Loco played well last week but lost to Stros in a heartbreaker. They went into Sunday night with a strong chance at victory but Vance Mcdonald could not hold up his end of the bargain. As mentioned previously, injuries and bye weeks hit this roster hard, and it was displayed last week. Still, nothing is lost for this team. Their starting lineup can go toe to toe with anyone and they remain at the top of the West division currently. Mahomes has to get healthy if this team wants to reach its full potential.
McCoy is off to their worst start in franchise history. Losing to a previously winless team a week ago has put them in dire straights. They made a questionable lineup decision a week ago benching Beckham in favor of DJ Chark, and it did not pay off. Not all hope is lost however. Their trade for Hunter Henry could end up being a steal, and they still boast strong WRs and solid RBs. Do not count this team out, but it is fair to wonder how this team will respond after finally dealing with poor MFFL circumstance that they've seemed to avoid for so long. The West division in particular is stepping up this year, so climbing out of this hole would put another notched in the belt of this franchise.
Loco's star player Chris Godwin is on bye this week, while McCoy will have to wait a week before absolving a mistake and putting Beckham back in the starting lineup after his bye. This is a much bigger game for McCoy but Loco needs the win as well. Over the last two seasons these two teams have been the best in the West and this week will be a measuring stick game for both.
2. The Perpetual Dynasty (5-1) vs The Glorious Morgans (2-4)
Believe it or not this is TPD's best start in franchise history. Long the dominant force in the league, it is easy to forget just how much poor circumstance that has burdened this franchise each and every season. This season however has been different. They have survived due to an easy schedule and circumstances falling their way for once. Time will tell how long something so rare can last, but giving this typically slow starting team wins this early in the season is a scary thought to all.
The Morgans have been trying to get out of an early season hole but are struggling to do so. Last week they started two TEs, while leaving a solid RB with a great match-up on the bench. It did not work, and was a key factor in the eventual loss. The injury to Brees and JuJu's poor QB situation have hamstrung this team into difficult plays each week. Add in the return of Gordon impacting Ekeler, and it is no secret why this team has been struggling. Look for them to keep fighting. The task ahead is daunting but they have been here before and will never give up.
TPD has been surviving without Adams, but needs him back in a bad way. JuJu is on bye but The Morgans will likely be excited to test different guys in their WR lineup.
Stros is red hot having won four in a row after an (0-2) start, but this week they are without Evans and McCaffrey. LFB is better than their (2-4) record, and they hope to prove it by catching Stros on a down week.
TDs is (4-0) in the East division, but have scored the fewest points in the East Division. That is nuts. Tavon has struggled to find consistent production from most everyone in their lineup, but when it does happen they have the talent to beat anyone.
UB is (4-2) and needing to beat Baker this week before facing their difficult match-ups against the rest of the West division.
