Week 9 Anticipated Matchups

GAME OF THE WEEK

Perpetual Dynasty VS. The Real McCoy
Two old school managers face off in this weeks best matchup. PD has won 6 straight games en route to claiming the top spot in the 2006 Buckeyes Division. McCoy has won 3 out of 4 and sits in 3rd overall place. The facts for these teams have remained consistent all year. PD is a strong team who puts up points, but teams he plays are averaging a healthy 120 against him. McCoy has struggled to consistently get points each and every week, but when he plays well, he scores big numbers. This is going to be an extremely close matchup coming down to the wire with both teams having two players on Sunday night. The manager with a strong lead heading into that matchup will more than likely win. McCoy needs a victory more so than PD because he has El Pollo Loco biting at his heels in the 1998 Buckeyes Division. PD has a two game lead in his division, but he does not want to give up any ground. This matchup will be a back and forth brawl.

2. ShowMeYourTDs VS. Tesus Crusades
Playoff implications abound in this matchup. Two teams cast right between each other in the playoff race bash heads this week. Something has to give in this matchup, as both teams have struggled to score in the last couple of weeks. Whomever can find momentum first will more than likely take this matchup. A win for Tesus would silence some doubters, while a win for TDs will further push him into playoff contender discussions. I would expect another low scoring affair between these two teams, but the winner will take what they can get.

3. La Flama Blanca VS. Beaus N Hoes
Two (3-5) teams look to climb back into playoff discussions. The winner here will most certainly still be alive, while the loser may be looking at a consolation birth. It seems both teams are ready to get hot, as some key players look to rebound after sub far first halves of the season. Both teams are looking to build off of victories a week ago. Scratching and clawing into the playoffs brings no shame, just respect.

4. El Pollo Loco VS. Weeden and Weep
This game means more for Loco. He is still in playoff contention. Weeden has a chance to climb back into the race, but a win here does not seem plausible with 3 of his starters on bye. Still it should be a close affair and there are implications on both ends.

5. Brax To Da Max VS. Gothams Reckoning
Best VS worst in this matchup. Even though both teams have guaranteed a victory the anticipation meter rests. Just as we said last week in Brax's matchup, if he wins, its the upset of the year. A loss for Gotham would be surprising and hurtful, but he would still be ahead of his division, and on a collision course with the playoffs.
