Week 16 Match-Up Build-Up Championship Edition

For the first time in nearly four calendar years there will be a new MFFL champion. TPD's reign at the top, for the moment, is over. New stars arise from two franchise's who are each playing in their first championship game. Neither team had previously won a playoff match-up and now they are playing for it all.

Loco dispatched TPD last week with no regard for their previous accomplishments or well being. After weeks of purging hydraulic fluid Loco patched up the leak and smashed in week 15. They scored the most points of any playoff team and received huge performances from players that had previously been struggling. It is the classic #4 seed tale played over and again in the MFFL. No one is safe in the playoffs. Records, themes, and trends do not matter. It is said every year but yet everyone forgets.
Loco lost Goodwin last week which is a huge loss, but it balances out the loss of Evans for Stros from the week before. Loco's explosion may not be sustainable for two straight weeks, considering how the squad was playing over the six weeks previous. But we have seen teams go on huge two week playoff runs before. They will trust their players again in this one and will hope for the best. What a season.

Stros has been the best team all season, and even the loss of Mike Evans couldn't stop them from making the ship. They exacted revenge against UB last week, after UB stole the West Division from them in the final week of the regular season. All the boys came to play last week, and like so many times before McCaffrey ran the day. Stars are loaded all over the roster, as well as some quality depth. How they won last week while benching Kenyan Drake will forever remain a mystery. Had they lost they would have never forgiven themselves. Stros is going to stick with what got them here and likely not change much of anything in the starting lineup. They're loaded for bear.

If polled in the offseason, neither team would have likely predicted their championship fates, given their shaky pasts. But now that both are here, expect them to put on a show. These opportunities are rare and must be taken advantage of. This is going to be a battle to end all battles. Watch come Saturday and Sunday.
