McCoy is on the heels of their best week of the season and now sit a top the MFFL standings. The stars of the team continue to be Murray and Carson, though last week saw other guys step up as well. They are already up to 15 moves on the year, which is crazy for this franchise. Last year they had 25 moves for the entire season. When they have a team with a chance to be good, they go all in, and this looks like an all in year for them. In a year in which points are being scored at an all time high, McCoy is somehow traversing an all time easy schedule. Teams are averaging 112 ppg against them. The league average for scoring this year is 130 ppg. Staggering.
Coop has won 3 straight games and has already proven their worth and potential. They have done all of this without the services of Michael Thomas. Last week was fluky, they won scoring 108, but overall their week to week point totals have been good. Russell Wilson continues to go off and the bench has taken shape after being a weak point early in the year. A playoff appearance in their first year of MFFL ball was not expected, but this team is on that path. They have firepower at every major position. It is truly a remarkable start to their MFFL career. Impressive.
2. The Perpetual Dynasty (2-3) vs Imposing Monstrosity (4-1)
TPD got back to their winning ways last week after three straight losses. The splash play for this franchise was trading for McCaffrey mid week. CMC may still be out another week or two, but it becomes less of a concern if Mike Davis continues to beast. The rest of the lineup finally played up to their potential last week, a theme they hope continues moving forward. Eventually this lineup will reach its full potential with Cam, Adams, and CMC all getting healthy. Oh boy when that happens.
Stros lost their first game of the season last week. They continue to struggle scoring points, currently sitting 9th in points scored. They were fortunate to get off to a (4-1) start, but now is the time to start seeing improvement. Rodgers is back this week after a bye, which will help, but they need to start getting more production out of their top WRs and their RBs, outside of Henry. They have depth to spare, but they need more blow up performances. Match-ups this week against the Jets, Giants, Bengals, and Texans should be just what the doctor ordered for this lineup.
3. El Pollo Loco vs (2-3) vs The Glorious Morgans (3-2)
Loco had a rough week. They scored under 120 for the third time in four weeks, lost Amari's star QB, suffered and injury to Allen, and Bell was cut. Mahomes and Hopkins have been great, but there are more question marks across the lineup now than compared to even a few weeks ago. RB continues to be a difficult position to predict for them, having RBs on the bench play better than the starters almost every week. Loco is hoping for a feast week, akin to their feast or famine ways.
The Morgans predictably cooled last week in a match-up against McCoy, though they still acquitted themselves well. Not having Kamara this week due to bye is a major loss, but this is one of the deepest teams in the league and they can perhaps survive without him. Not much has changed in their long term outlook. They are a major contender.
4. GrabbingThemTDs (1-4) vs Unstopa-Bo (3-2)
TDs slow start hurts even worse now that Dak is out for the year. It is a major blow, but luckily there are multiple replacement options at QB on free agency, though they won't be Dak. Ertz has been a disaster this year, and they are still waiting on Godwin to get fully healthy. It may be too little too late, but all is not lost. TDs remains one of the least active managers on free agency, a theme that has hurt them for years, but this week they bought big on Claypool, hoping last week's explosion wasn't a mirage.
UB is quietly (3-2). They have scored over 145 in back to back weeks. Gordon's DUI will hurt them eventually, and Gurley looks unlikely to keep up his early season success, but this team is deep with talent. It may not matter if Lamar doesn't start playing up to his potential though. This team is a competitor, but much about the lineup seems fragile outside of Metcalf and Kelce.
5. Both Chubbin and LFB are hanging on for dear life, but crazy reversals in fortune have happened in the MFFL around this point in the year.
