Match-Up Build-Up Week 8

1. The Perpetual Dynasty (5-2) vs The Glorious Morgans (3-4)
TPD has won three straight and has taken sole possession of 1st place in the MFFL standings. Over their last three games they are averaging an eye popping 173 points per game. Last week they scored over 150 with Allen, Cook, and Sanders all on bye. Cooper Kupp has been beyond amazing, but TPD knows his pace is doomed to slow, and he fears Kupp is using up all his best weeks early in the season. Which has been a troubling trend for years in the MFFL for teams that storm out of the gates early. Still, TPD is playing at a different level than everyone right now, and they have proven to be the team to beat nearing the season's midway point. Not having Adams due to covid would be a big loss in this important match-up.
The Morgans have slowly been putting together better weeks. They have scored over 138 in three of five games. Last week they secured a crucial victory over McCoy, performing well in the process. Trading for Metcalf, Brown, and Williams seems to have paid off in the short term. They'll have Murray going on Thursday Night, in what they hope to be an explosive performance. The Morgans will be thanking their lucky stars if Adams sits, as you know he was destined to blow up against the team that traded him. TPD hopes the same isn't true for the players they gave to the Morgans. Expect a close game. TPD still has the league's toughest schedule by a wide margin.

2. Imposing Monstrosity (3-4) vs The Real McCoy (4-3)
Stros is scrapping. It was foretold they were destined for a reverse in productivity, and it seems to be happening. Led by Chase, the squad looks like it has the depth to last the long season. Their slow start to the year hasn't hurt them, as everyone, expect TPD, is within one game of each other in the standings. It's anyones game, and Stros is right in the thick of it. Don't forget they have Barkley coming back form injury soon too. This team will make a late season push.
McCoy has been alternating wins and losses since week two. They continue to perform well, currently sitting 3rd in points scored, but last week they finally had a team show up to play against them. They have yet to secure a divisional win, which is rare for them as they usually destroy West teams. That may come back to bit them, but they still hold a great spot half way through the season. This week against Stros is crucial. They need a divisional win. Luckily for them, their schedule down the stretch looks like it will continue to be easy. They still play UB and Baker twice each, the two teams at the bottom of the MFFL currently. They are still the West frontrunner.

3. La Flama Blanca (3-4) vs ShowMeYourTDs (3-4)
LFB has lost three of four, and they continue to display wide variance in productivity week to week. But they get Thielen and Harris back from bye, and Kittle will get healthy soon. Nothing is lost for this squad. They may be in 5th now, but they are 2nd in points. Two upcoming games against TPD may decide the East.
TDs won last week as they have now sandwiched one bad week in between two great ones. Their RB depth is strong once Helaire and Montgomery get back from injury. They look like a contender, though Hopkins and Cooper both have the ability to play below expectations week to week, based on the offenses they play in. Look for TDs to battle all season long. This may end up being their first playoff appearance since the League's inaugural season.

4. El Pollo Loco (4-3) vs Baker's Chubbin' (3-4)
The injury to CMC and Wilson, which impacted Lockett, has hamstrung Loco into a shell of their previously form. Add on to that Mahomes playing his worst game as a pro, and last week was doomed to be a disaster. Still, they are 3rd in the standings and 4th in points. Also helping them is the two divisional wins they have, which gives them a tie breaker edge over McCoy in the West. They need to win this week. After playing Baker, their next three opponents are the three highest scoring teams in the league. The book on Loco's season may be written in the next month.
After a hot start, Baker has lost three straight and four of five. They are last in points scored and are on the brink of collapse. The Darnold start last week was one of the poorer gameday managing decisions this season. They have depth, and Wilson could return next week, so do not count this team out yet. But they have to turn it around soon, before it is too late. They have the capability.

5. Chicken Noodle Coop (4-3) vs Unstopa-Bo (3-4)
Coop won last week but only scored 100 points. They have now scored below 111 points in three of their last four games. Once a deep team, their depth has been destroyed by injuries. If Waller, Carson, and Beckham can heal up, their chances of success will grow exponentially. They get Jeudy back this week which could be the start of something big. Even with the poor performances they have gone (2-2) over their last four. They hope to take that good fortune and not let it go to waste.
UB has scored the 2nd fewest points. They have yet to make a move all season. Somehow they are surviving at (3-4). Chances are it will not last much longer.
