Week 4 Match-up Build-up

GAME OF THE WEEK
Beau-dacious Babes (2-1) VS Tavon and Only (2-1)
This week's best match-up features two teams who ranked in the bottom 3 last season. Adding fuel to this fire is the fact that both teams suffered their first losses of the season a week ago. It is astonishing to think that one of these teams will have a (3-1) record after this week, unless there is a tie. The Babes have a stellar starting lineup. He has consistency across the board. His achilles heel may occur on bye weeks when his bench obtains a more significant role, but his starters remain intact this week. Tavon was certain he would win heading into week 3, but after a loss to PD he is looking to get his confidence back. Michael Vick, Reggie Bush, and Vincent Jackson have all cooled down after their hot starts. He tried to lift his team's energy this week by trading for Jason Witten, but he also gave up Darren Sproles and Eric Decker, a move leaving some managers scratching their heads. Neither manager wants to walk away with a second consecutive loss. This week may show which team's hot start is ready to continue.

2. La Flama Blanca (2-1) VS The Reckoning (2-1)
Two teams who set the single game points record in week 1 and week 3 battle for supremacy in this week 4 match-up. The Reckoning scored a record 174 points without his starting RB's and without his starting QB. It was an unbelievable, inexplainable, and unforgettable week. The additions of Darren Sproles and Eric Decker make his team look formidable. A week ago Reckoning was fighting to stay alive, now his sites are set on a championship prize. La Flama is without Aaron Rodgers and Randall Cobb for this match-up, but as we saw last week with Reckoning, you do not need your starters to win, and win big. This match-up would have been the most anticipated if Jordan had his stars, even still this is a game to watch. Both of these teams will compete all season.

3. El Pollo Loco (2-1) VS The Advantageous Morgans (1-2)
A non divisional sparring match highlights this weeks number 3 match-up. El Pollo Loco has been scoring points at will this season. He has yet to score under 129. Unfortunately for him the injury bug and bye week blues have made a visit to his locker room. This could very well be his lowest scoring output of the season, but he still has enough fire power to get a victory. The Morgans got their first victory of the season last week, but he still has room for growth. His team is loaded with players who can have huge games at the flip of a coin. His only issue is getting them all on the same page at once. This match-up should be extremely close.

4. Perpetual Dynasty (2-1) VS Weeden and Weep (1-2)
The most committed manager VS the least involved, showcases this week's number 4 match-up. PD is busy trying to improve his team while Weeden is busy doing something else. There is not much to say with regards to this match-up. Weeden hopes to catch PD's team before he gets Gronk and Trent Richardson playing at full speed.

5. ShowMeYourTDs (0-3) VS The Real McCoy (1-2)
The only certainty in this match-up is uncertainty. TDs looked strong on paper after the draft, but he is (0-3). The theme for McCoy has remained a constant for years: inconsistency. The needs remain the same. TDs just needs a win. McCoy needs to prove he can maintain a championship level of consistency, something he has never done.

Week 3 Match-up Build-up

GAME OF THE WEEK

El Pollo Loco VS La Flama Blanca
Number 4 VS number 2 claim this week's "game of the week." La Flama Blanca's single week points record went down after just one week, but that did not slow his team down. He blasted ShowMeYourTDs 138-80 (it is no wonder that match-up was ranked dead last in anticipation last week). La Flama has completely shattered any notion that he had a poor draft. His team looks like an absolute contender. El Pollo Loco silenced some doubters after crushing Weeden and Weep 143-80. His team could have been undefeated leading up this game if not for a tough week 1 match-up in which he scored 140 and still lost. His team has put up over 140 in back to back weeks. This week 3 match-up could be a preview of a future playoff clash. Get the popcorn ready for this one.

2. Perpetual Dynasty VS Tavon and Only
Divisional foes fight for conference supremacy in this week 3 match-up. Tavon has narrowly won in back to back weeks. He won by 1 point in week one, and 2 points in week two. His team has played well but some managers are wondering when his fortunes will change. PD hopes it is this week. PD completely reshaped his team after his week 2 defeat at the hands of McCoy. His starting lineup will feature at least 3 new members to his franchise. He hopes the moves will make a more balanced team not so dependent on a few star players. The betting line for this match-up is razor close, so pick your winner with care.

3. ShowMeYourTDs VS The Reckoning
Strong managerial personalities catapult this match-up to number 3 for this week. Tds has started (0-2) while averaging a disgusting 92.5 points per game. On paper his team is better than his record, but you are only as good as your record. He hopes to take advantage of a wounded Reckoning team this week. Reckoning has been scrambling to find replacement RBs after Rice and Jackson both went down in week 2. He is also starting a new QB this week since Andrew Luck is on the road against San Fran. If Reckoning wins it will be one of the most memorable victories of his career considering the circumstances. TDs needs a win just to keep his team afloat. Style points do not matter here, both managers will take a victory any way they can.

4. Beau-dacious Babes VS Advantageous Morgan's
Babes VS Morgan's...this match-up screams excitement! Not really. Babes has been a one man wrecking machine starting (2-0) while averaging and amazing 163.5 points per game. His dominant start to the season gives managers little hope to expect a Morgans upset. However, Babe's hot start is doomed to slow down. The Morgan's better hope so or they will be (0-3).

5. Weeden and Weep VS The Real McCoy
Managers struggling to find an identity claim the least anticipated match-up of week 3. The combination of inconsistent performances, lack of smack talk, and overall uncertainty, are the causes for their low ranking. McCoy bounced back in week 2 with a victory over PD, but his team was led by a few star performances, and it is still unknown has his team will perform week to week (not unlike last season). Weeden played well in week 1 but got his shit rocked in week 2. Weeden will have to win here to give any managers a reason not to think he will finish in the bottom 2 for a second straight season. McCoy needs to prove he can maintain a championship level of consistency so other managers develop a sense of fear and respect pertaining to his franchise.

Week 2 Match-up Build-up

GAME OF THE WEEK

Perpetual Dynasty VS The Real McCoy
New Season, same foe. Last season PD was a lock to reach the championship. He was a one man wrecking machine. He obtained the number 1 seed in the playoffs; McCoy had to win his week 13 match-up just to reach the playoffs. The stage was set. McCoy had won back to back games for only the second time all season leading up to their playoff match-up. PD expected a down week from McCoy. His calculations were correct; McCoy only scored 109 points. Everyone knew what was about to happen.....it did not happen as planned. PD scored a pedestrian 106 points, 30 points less than his average. McCoy squeaked out a victory, propelling him to a championship. It was PD's most devastating loss in his fantasy career. The stage is now reshaped. PD scored 135 points in a victory over TD's in week 1. McCoy is hoping to rebound after a 61 point loss to Reckoning. Both managers are dealing with injuries but it is better to deal with injuries now rather than late in the season. The key for PD is having his RB's keep pace with Lynch and Ridley. McCoy hopes his WR's can keep pace with Megatron and Marshall. There may be better match-ups on paper, but the background story makes this the week 2 match-up of the week.

2. The Reckoning VS Beau-dacious Babes
Clash of the 150 point titans. Both teams scored above 150 last week. That is impressive. The only caveat being that eight teams scored over 135 points!!! The tree fitty bet is on the line as always between these two, making their match-up that much spicier. Reckoning handled some unfinished business against McCoy in week 1, after losing to him in the championship last season. Babes had strong performances on Sunday night and Monday night allowing him to get past a tough Loco squad. Each team is loaded with veteran play makers. This match-up is as close as they come. Be prepared for some fireworks.

3. El Pollo Loco VS Weeden and Weep
Perhaps the two unluckiest managers in the league square off in week 2. Weeden lost by 1 point in week 1; an unfortunate outcome that seems to be a trend for his franchise. Weeden had the toughest schedule in the league last season. Loco came close to a victory, but Babes took it away on Monday night. Both managers liked what they saw out of their teams in week 1, regardless of the outcome. The only thing each manager wants is some better fortune. This week could indicate which team is ready to put their troubled ways behind them.

4. La Flama Blanca VS ShowMeYourTDs
La Flama will not enjoy being the 4th most anticipated match-up after a record setting week 1, but it is only because he is now a heavy favorite. La Flama was slammed with a D+ draft rating, the worst in the league. His 170 point performance in week 1 quickly dispelled that impression. He is talented, hungry, and angry, making him a manager to watch out for. TDs is always hungry and angry, but does he have the talent? He hopes this week will shed some light on an otherwise gloomy forecast.

5. Tavon and Only VS Advantageous Morgans
Tavon talked major smack after his one point victory in week 1. He believes he has turned a corner in his fantasy career. The Morgans first round gamble on Trent Richardson cost them dearly in week 1. He hopes he is not kicking himself all season for passing on his boy Ray Rice. This match-up is better than its 5th ranking, but unfortunately there are tons good match-ups in week 2.

Week 1 Matchup Build-up

The wait is over. Football is here.

MATCHUP OF THE WEEK

The Real McCoy VS The Reckoning
This looks familiar. The two teams that battled for the championship last season square off to start this season. This is the most anticipated week 1 matchup in history. The Real McCoy has a championship belt to defend. Reckoning has revenge on his mind. What more could you want in a week 1 matchup. What has changed since last year? First, the hunted is now the hunter. Teams were trying to take down a dominate Reckoning team all season; they had little success as Reckoning won the West Division Crown. McCoy finds himself in unfamiliar territory being the one team everyone is trying to beat. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. Second, both teams last year were known for having young athletic players; this season, each team seems to be led by veterans. On paper both teams seem to be evenly matched. They both have veteran leaders at WR and RB, but both are starting young QBs. The edge in this matchup may be Reckonings dominate TE duo, Graham and Witten. McCoy will have to depend on big contributions from his WR's, Bryant, White, and Garcon.

2. Perpetual Dynasty VS ShowMeYourTDs
Two playoffs participants from last season start this season off with a bang. PD had TDs number last season winning all three matchups. PD wants to start this season the same way it ended last year, with a win over TDs. Even though both teams were in the playoffs last season, their journey's could not have been more different. TDs skated through the easiest schedule in the league, while PD was the most dominate team all season even with the 4th hardest schedule. Whats changed? TDs is the oldest team in the league; last season he was carried by young rookies Trent Richardson and RGIII. PD reached for stars in the draft rather than stock piling talent. The early money is on PD to make it four in a row, but his history of week 1 failures coupled with TDs lust for vengeance make this game closer than it may appear. Will TDs veterans muscle a victory, or will PD's star power out shine them?

3. El Pollo Loco VS Beau-dacious Babes
Two teams with something to prove crash heads in week 1. El Pollo Loco was an inch away from making the playoffs last season, if not for a late season injury spell. He feels he was undoubtedly a top 4 team from a season ago; most would agree with him. Babes needs to step up in his second season. He can catapult himself into fantasy relevance with a bounce back season, but another down year will place him among the MFFL weak links. Babes starters seem to be more flashy, Loco has a lot of depth to play with. Each team would love to start the season with a victory.

4. La Flama Blanca VS Advantageous Morgans
Bad trades crippled both of these teams a season ago. Flama gave up Witten and Chicago D. Morgans gave up Charles, Gonzalez and Colston. Either on of them could have competed for a playoff spot if the managed their teams more properly. Watch for one of them to be a surprise contender this season. They are strong managers who learned some hard lessons last year. Thats a recipe that leads to success.

5. Weeden and Weep VS Tavon and Only

Number 10 VS number 9. Analysis will come with success. Until then, I look to the video...
