GAME OF THE WEEK
Perpetual Dynasty VS The Real McCoy
New Season, same foe. Last season PD was a lock to reach the championship. He was a one man wrecking machine. He obtained the number 1 seed in the playoffs; McCoy had to win his week 13 match-up just to reach the playoffs. The stage was set. McCoy had won back to back games for only the second time all season leading up to their playoff match-up. PD expected a down week from McCoy. His calculations were correct; McCoy only scored 109 points. Everyone knew what was about to happen.....it did not happen as planned. PD scored a pedestrian 106 points, 30 points less than his average. McCoy squeaked out a victory, propelling him to a championship. It was PD's most devastating loss in his fantasy career. The stage is now reshaped. PD scored 135 points in a victory over TD's in week 1. McCoy is hoping to rebound after a 61 point loss to Reckoning. Both managers are dealing with injuries but it is better to deal with injuries now rather than late in the season. The key for PD is having his RB's keep pace with Lynch and Ridley. McCoy hopes his WR's can keep pace with Megatron and Marshall. There may be better match-ups on paper, but the background story makes this the week 2 match-up of the week.
2. The Reckoning VS Beau-dacious Babes
Clash of the 150 point titans. Both teams scored above 150 last week. That is impressive. The only caveat being that eight teams scored over 135 points!!! The tree fitty bet is on the line as always between these two, making their match-up that much spicier. Reckoning handled some unfinished business against McCoy in week 1, after losing to him in the championship last season. Babes had strong performances on Sunday night and Monday night allowing him to get past a tough Loco squad. Each team is loaded with veteran play makers. This match-up is as close as they come. Be prepared for some fireworks.
3. El Pollo Loco VS Weeden and Weep
Perhaps the two unluckiest managers in the league square off in week 2. Weeden lost by 1 point in week 1; an unfortunate outcome that seems to be a trend for his franchise. Weeden had the toughest schedule in the league last season. Loco came close to a victory, but Babes took it away on Monday night. Both managers liked what they saw out of their teams in week 1, regardless of the outcome. The only thing each manager wants is some better fortune. This week could indicate which team is ready to put their troubled ways behind them.
4. La Flama Blanca VS ShowMeYourTDs
La Flama will not enjoy being the 4th most anticipated match-up after a record setting week 1, but it is only because he is now a heavy favorite. La Flama was slammed with a D+ draft rating, the worst in the league. His 170 point performance in week 1 quickly dispelled that impression. He is talented, hungry, and angry, making him a manager to watch out for. TDs is always hungry and angry, but does he have the talent? He hopes this week will shed some light on an otherwise gloomy forecast.
5. Tavon and Only VS Advantageous Morgans
Tavon talked major smack after his one point victory in week 1. He believes he has turned a corner in his fantasy career. The Morgans first round gamble on Trent Richardson cost them dearly in week 1. He hopes he is not kicking himself all season for passing on his boy Ray Rice. This match-up is better than its 5th ranking, but unfortunately there are tons good match-ups in week 2.
