Week 1 Matchup Build-up

The wait is over. Football is here.

MATCHUP OF THE WEEK

The Real McCoy VS The Reckoning
This looks familiar. The two teams that battled for the championship last season square off to start this season. This is the most anticipated week 1 matchup in history. The Real McCoy has a championship belt to defend. Reckoning has revenge on his mind. What more could you want in a week 1 matchup. What has changed since last year? First, the hunted is now the hunter. Teams were trying to take down a dominate Reckoning team all season; they had little success as Reckoning won the West Division Crown. McCoy finds himself in unfamiliar territory being the one team everyone is trying to beat. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. Second, both teams last year were known for having young athletic players; this season, each team seems to be led by veterans. On paper both teams seem to be evenly matched. They both have veteran leaders at WR and RB, but both are starting young QBs. The edge in this matchup may be Reckonings dominate TE duo, Graham and Witten. McCoy will have to depend on big contributions from his WR's, Bryant, White, and Garcon.

2. Perpetual Dynasty VS ShowMeYourTDs
Two playoffs participants from last season start this season off with a bang. PD had TDs number last season winning all three matchups. PD wants to start this season the same way it ended last year, with a win over TDs. Even though both teams were in the playoffs last season, their journey's could not have been more different. TDs skated through the easiest schedule in the league, while PD was the most dominate team all season even with the 4th hardest schedule. Whats changed? TDs is the oldest team in the league; last season he was carried by young rookies Trent Richardson and RGIII. PD reached for stars in the draft rather than stock piling talent. The early money is on PD to make it four in a row, but his history of week 1 failures coupled with TDs lust for vengeance make this game closer than it may appear. Will TDs veterans muscle a victory, or will PD's star power out shine them?

3. El Pollo Loco VS Beau-dacious Babes
Two teams with something to prove crash heads in week 1. El Pollo Loco was an inch away from making the playoffs last season, if not for a late season injury spell. He feels he was undoubtedly a top 4 team from a season ago; most would agree with him. Babes needs to step up in his second season. He can catapult himself into fantasy relevance with a bounce back season, but another down year will place him among the MFFL weak links. Babes starters seem to be more flashy, Loco has a lot of depth to play with. Each team would love to start the season with a victory.

4. La Flama Blanca VS Advantageous Morgans
Bad trades crippled both of these teams a season ago. Flama gave up Witten and Chicago D. Morgans gave up Charles, Gonzalez and Colston. Either on of them could have competed for a playoff spot if the managed their teams more properly. Watch for one of them to be a surprise contender this season. They are strong managers who learned some hard lessons last year. Thats a recipe that leads to success.

5. Weeden and Weep VS Tavon and Only

Number 10 VS number 9. Analysis will come with success. Until then, I look to the video...
