Imperium vs The Real McCoy
Two teams tied
for the league lead in wins settle a score in the hugely important week 11 of
the MFFL season. The last time these two team met it was for pride and a chance
for McCoy to end Imperium’s winning streak to start the season. McCoy won that
game leading to a 4 game losing streak for Imperium. Entering week 11 the
circumstances have changed and the stakes are raised.
Imperium is trying to
stop the bleeding and get back in the win column. Over the last 4 weeks they
have scored over 100 points only once, and their roster continues to deal with
the loss of Steve smith and the under performing of Eddie Lacy. Imperium warned
fellow league members of these potential circumstances, even when he was (6-0).
This is a huge opportunity for Imperium, as McCoy will be without Ingram and
Beckham. Imperium needs to be one of those teams that gets hot late in the
year, they only have 5 more points than the team with the least amount of ppg.
If they can get decent RB contributions, the rest of their starting lineup
should carry them to wins down the stretch. Don’t ever count this manager out.
McCoy is feeling
vulnerable after a disappointing week 10 effort. Their main concern is the steady
decline in production from certain players locked into their starting lineup.
They made a massive move this week, spending $70 on Danny Amendola, in hopes of
adding a WR 2 for the rest of the season. It was a bold move and one McCoy felt
they had to make. Their roster is still one of the best around, and odds are
they will make a playoff run, but its more uncertain now following two losses.
Having to depend on injury prone players like Mcfadden and Amendola down the
stretch was not a scenario McCoy wanted to envision.
What more needs
to be said. Playoff dreams are on the line and both managers are faced with a
must win game. Whoever wins this match-up will be one win away from theoretically clinching a playoff birth in 2015.
2. Perpetual Dynasty vs ShowMeYourTDs
Two managers with opposite circumstances try to survive in week 11. PD is 2nd in the league in points, but 7th
in the standings. TDs is last in the league in points, yet they are one game
out of the playoff standings. TDs beat PD for the first time ever early this
season, and a sweep of PD would rub salt in the wound. TDs will try to replicate their success come Sunday.
PD continues to toss up gaudy numbers, putting up the most points in the league since week 6, and scoring over 140 a week ago with a player scoring (-8). Unfortunately they
have the 2nd hardest schedule in the league, even harder than the
widely publicized Unstopa-Bo schedule.
Something has to give in this match-up.
Will it be PD’s playoff chances or TDs good luck? Who knows. Watch and find
out. If PD misses the playoffs it will be a devastating set of circumstances for
arguably the best team in the league and a giant sigh of relief from playoff
participants. If TDs misses the playoffs it will be justified by their point
total and a giant sigh of pain from Dr. Squeeze.
3. Unstopa-Bo vs The Advantageous Morgans
Unstopa-bo has
not scored under 125 in any game. They are on a one way train to #1 seed ville.
Even with their team slowing down a bit,
they are averaging 130 a game over the last two weeks as compared to 146 a game
for the first eight, they are one of the most dominate teams this league has
ever seen. Great draft sir.
The Morgans are
in full on disaster relief mode. They have lost 4 of 5 and haven't scored over
110 in three weeks. These circumstances were predicted by previous match-up build-up
posts, based on the Morgans schedule, but the under production out of their
lineup was an unforeseen bigger issue. All it takes is a victory against Bo to
steady the ship, but that’s a tall order. The Morgans need to get a win, or
their losing streak could continue longer than ever thought possible.
4. El Pollo Loco vs La Flama Blanca
Loco finally beat McCoy a week ago and they
will try to keep it rolling in week 11. It will be tough with the loss of
Julian Edelman, but Loco’s lineup has really taken shape after a tough middle
stretch to the season. Yet again Loco has the hardest schedule in the league, a
stat they seem to gain every season.
LBF won last week
in unimpressive fashion. Luckily for them, teams are not scoring against them
recently, and the one time a team came to play against them LFB scored 174 points to beat
PD in heart breaking fashion. That 174 herculean effort to crush the heart of PD
is the only thing that has kept him in the playoff race. If LFB plans on making a run, they're gonna have to score more.
5. Tavon and Only vs Whitner Wonderland
The loss of Bell
and Allen seems to be too much for Whitner. Tavon is on fire and is now the front runner to win the East division.
