Week 13 Match-up Build-up

GAME OF THE WEEK

Advantageous Morgans (6-5-1) VS La Flama Blanca (7-5)
Two of the best teams all season try to clinch playoff spots in the game of the week. The winner of this match-up will almost certainly find themselves post season bound. La Flama has been struggling, losing 3 out of 4. Their hot start to the season has carried them through this rough stretch. They need to get healthy, period. A win over the Morgans could prove that La Flama's success is not a product of the 3rd easiest schedule in the league. It's hard losing Aaron Rodgers. The Morgan's failed to achieve a victory over a team with a losing record last week. They tied Tavon 124-124. It now makes their playoff prospects a bit more cloudy. They have a difficult finish to the season, playing La Flama and The Reckoning. Two straight losses would open the door for a second West Division team to sneak into the playoffs ahead of the Morgans. Neither of these teams want their playoffs hopes to be determined in the last week of the season, the only way to avoid that is to win this match-up. Expect an all out brawl.

2. Perpetual Dynasty (9-3) VS ShowMeYourTDs (5-7)
Two of the hottest teams in the league fight for division pride in the number 2 match-up of the week. The TDs rebirth has been remarkable. They have won three straight games. Inexplicably, the TDs now have their sights on a potential playoff spot. Their recent success also gives them hope at minimum win the "Last Man Hand Standing Trophy." TDs is playing with house money considering how their season started. PD is the first team to clinch a playoff spot. They have an amazing (7-0) divisional record against the competitive East Division. They are averaging 145 points per game during a six game winning streak. PD is now playing for an undefeated divisional season and the number 1 overall seed. Both teams will try to put on a show for their loyal fan bases.

3. The Reckoning (6-6) VS The Real McCoy (5-7)
Two teams trying to avenge losses a week ago meet face to face. This season has been boom or bust for both teams. If both teams are booming on Sunday, then it could be the highest scoring match-up of the week. Reckonings domination of the West Division a season ago has not carried over this year, as four out of Reckoning's six losses have come against the West. The fact is Reckoning has the 3rd most points in the league. They are an extremely good team. Missing out on the playoffs because of their divisional record would devastate them. The Real McCoy were confident they could overcome their inconsistency after they improved their team via trades, but it did not happen. Last week they scored 103 points, this coming after they scored over 150 points two weeks ago. It has been the theme of their team all season long. The playoffs are not completely unreachable, but they are now behind the eight ball. A bounce back week from both teams is expected. This is a top match-up every single season.

4. El Pollo Loco (6-6) VS Tavon and Only (4-7-1)
Loco kept their playoff hopes alive with a massive victory over the Real McCoy last week. They have to beat Tavon in order to sustain their playoff aspirations. Having the Morgans lose out wouldn't hurt either. Tavon is playing for pride.

5. Weeden and Weep (6-6) VS IHateStevanRidley (5-7)
Weeden has the fewest scored points in the league. How are they (6-6)? Who would of thought that Weeden controls their own destiny in terms of a playoff spot. Formerly the Babes, the Ridley's have lost six games in a row. Their hot start keeps their playoff hopes alive by the slimmest of margins.

Week 12 Match-up Build-up

GAME OF THE WEEK

El Pollo Loco (5-6) VS The Real McCoy (5-6)
Playoff implications a plenty in week 12's Game of the Week. Many managers remember how El Pollo missed out on the playoffs last year because of some late season injuries. McCoy jumped at the opportunity and snatched the playoff slot many managers felt was designated for Loco. They meet again this season under very similar circumstances. Loco has alternated between Wins and Losses since week 5; never losing or winning back to back games within that span. A loss last week means Loco is trending toward a victory. However, their performance a week ago leaves much to be desired. Loco is going to need a massive turn around to defeat McCoy. Loco is looking at you A.J. Green. McCoy performed extremely well in a must win game against the Babes last week. The trade for Johnson and Mathews was successful, as they combined for 38 points. They simply need to keep winning. McCoy scored 91 points in week 3 after scoring over 150 in week 2. They hope that does not occur for a 2nd time as they scored over 150 last week. This is a make or break game for both teams. Who knows what will happen in a match-up between two of the most inconsistent teams; expect the unexpected.

2. Perpetual Dynasty (8-3) VS La Flama Blanca (7-4)
For the second straight week PD takes on the number two team in the league. PD has won five straight games. They are averaging 145 points per game during their winning streak. Their (6-0) divisional record is tops in the league. La Flama's victory over Weeden last week has steadied the ship after a rough stretch. Their playoff hopes continue to look strong. Much is on the line for both teams. With a win, PD can: clinch a playoff spot, get closer to a divisional championship, and get closer to the number 1 overall seed. For Flama, at stake is: a continuing push for a playoff spot, the division crown, and the number 1 overall seed. These two juggernauts hope to put on a show come Sunday.

3. The Reckoning (6-5) VS Weeden and Weep (5-6)
Revenge, pride, playoffs, what more do you want in a match-up. Reckoning leads the West Division. Their victory over Loco has them in control of their own destiny for the West Division crown. Their moves before the trading deadline have given them confidence to have a strong finish to the season. They hope to avenge one of their worst losses of the season this week. Weeden defeated Reckoning in week 8 (111-79). It was a devastating loss for a team that feels superior to Weeden. Quite simply, Weeden is a giant killer. Weeden has surprised everyone this year en-route to a (5-6) record. Do not sleep on this team. A win against Reckoning keeps their playoff hopes alive. Expect nothing less than a great game.

4. Advantageous Morgans (6-5) VS Tavon and Only (4-7)
     A Morgan's victory is expected.

5. ShowMeYourTDs (4-7) VS Beau-dacious Babes (5-6)
TDs is hot, the Babes are not.

Week 11 Match-up Build-up

GAME OF THE WEEK

Perpetual Dynasty (7-3) VS Advantageous Morgans (6-4)
The top two teams in the league do battle in the game of the week. The first two teams to score over 1300 points will try to put on a show come Sunday. Their match-up earlier in the year was an absolute blood bath, PD won (170-151). PD was propelled by a 50 point performance from Calvin Johnson. The Morgans have won back to back games. They beat their rival, reckoning, last week 134-119. It was a signature victory for their franchise. The Morgans have dominated the West Division this year going (5-0) in five match-ups. Their kryptonite has been the East Division. They have one victory within their own conference all season. That is a trend the Morgans will try to break this week against the top team in the league, Perpetual Dynasty. PD is on fire. They have averaged 145 points per contest, during a four game winning streak. His division lead is due in large part to his (5-0) division record against the East this season. Both of these teams support two of the best starting lineups in the league. This may end up being the game of the year. There really are not many words to describe this match-up. Here is a fact. They are the top two teams in the league currently. What more needs to be said. I hope all are ready come Sunday.

2. La Flama Blanca (6-4) VS Weeden and Weep (5-5)
Numbers 3 and 4 in the standings square off in this match-up. Weeden has won three straight games. Their rise to the top of the West division has been one of the more improbable runs in MFFL history. However, their total points scored leaves much to be desired. If Weeden wants to make the playoffs their team is going to have to start scoring more points. La Flama is coming off of an upset loss to TDs. They have lost two straight games. Not much has changed however. They are still a great team with a good chance at making the playoffs. Food for thought for La Flama is the fact that each year a deserving team misses out on the playoffs. They hope it is not them this season.

3. El Pollo Loco (5-5) VS The Reckoning (5-5)
OH BABY are we excited for this game. Loco unleashed a savage beating against Reckoning the first time these teams met. They won (156-77). Reckoning has not forgotten. Both teams are within the (5-5) mix of the West Division. This is a huge game to decide a potential Division champion. Literally every team in the West division has a chance to win it. Loco survived last week because of an insane hail mary to A.J. Green. They deserved a playoff shot last year but they were snake bitten by late season injuries. Loco hopes to stay healthy down the stretch this year. Reckoning's squad is getting stronger. Welcome back Percy Harvin. Reckoning is looking like a team no one would want to face come playoff time. They have to prove it this week against a divisional foe. Fireworks a plenty. Do not miss this match-up.

4. The Real McCoy (4-6) VS Beau-dacious Babes (5-5)
There are many similarities between this match-up and the number 3 match-up. The difference in this match-up is that neither team is playing particularly well. The Babes have lost four straight games. Their playoff hopes hang in the balance. They got unlucky last week when A.J. Green caught a miracle Hail Mary. Without those 12 points the Babes would have won. McCoy had one of the most unlucky losses in MFFL history. Going into Sunday night they had 3 players left and Weeden had 1. McCoy was only down by one point at the start of Sunday night football, but they still came away with a defeat. They are now in survival mode. McCoy recently traded for Andre Johnson and Ryan Mathews, giving away Dez Bryant. It was a power move. It was a trade by a team that knew they needed to throw everything they had at their opponent. A win this week is necessary. They just improved their chances of win significantly. They should be commended for their fight and determination. Never give up. It is a champion resolve.

5. ShowMeYourTDs (3-7) VS Tavon and Only (4-6)
Two teams not giving up this season clash shields in this match-up. TDs is trying to upgrade their ,already improving, roster by trading right before the trade deadline. They hope to keep a 3 game 130  point scoring streak alive. Tavon will never give up even when the cards are stacked against them. Pride is on the line here. That is plenty of motivation for these two managers.

Week 10 Match-up Build-up

GAME OF THE WEEK

Advantageous Morgans (5-4) VS The Reckoning (5-4)
Two rivals, ready to draw blood, take aim in the game of the week. Welcome back Reckoning. Reckoning finally put up big numbers after scoring under 80 points in 2 out of their last 3 games. They embarrassed the Babes 159-104. It was a revenge victory after losing to the babes by 61 points in week 2. Reckoning now has their sights on the division crown. They have relied on their young leaders Luck and Brown all season. This week presents some problems for Reckoning as they will most likely be without their two starting RBs Ridley and Sproles. Another issue is the fact that they are playing the Morgans. The Morgans have scored the most points in the league. Their trades and free agent pick-ups have been strong all season. They have destroyed the West Division this year. They are (4-0) against teams from the West. They are at full strength this week which is bad for Reckoning considering The Morgans starting lineup may be the best in the league. The early spread has The Morgans as a 19 point favorite. Remarkably, the Morgans are in 3rd in the East Division. Reckoning can separate themselves from the crowded West Division with a victory. The Morgans can make a claim for the East division lead with a win. This game will be a slugfest. The match-ups are pretty close across the board so look for the winner to be the team that had one or two star performances. Are you ready for war?

2. El Pollo Loco (4-5) VS Beau-dacious Babes (5-4)
Two teams trying to make a playoff push square off in this pivotal divisional match-up. Loco is perhaps the most unlucky team in the league dating back to last season. They are averaging 126 points per game this season, but they have a (4-5) record. Each week it seems they are playing against a team that has an unexpected player explode for big points. A player has scored over 30 points against them in 3 straight games. That trend could change this week as they are playing against the struggling babes. What has happened to the babes? They have lost 3 straight games while scoring under 113 points in all of them. If they plan to make a playoff push their effort will have to increase. What is even more depressing is that they hold the leagues 4th easiest schedule. The Babes early season bravado has disappeared. A win here could keep them alive. Loco is wounded because of bye's and injuries. They will have to depend on huge performances from their stars. Both teams are desperate for a win.

3. Perpetual Dynasty (6-3) VS Tavon and Only (4-5)
Tavon got a huge win last week over their rival McCoy. A win over PD would catapult them into playoff contention. PD has won 3 games in a row. They were fortunate to win last week even without their stars. Many are expecting a PD victory, but no team circles the wagons like Tavon and Only.

4. ShowMeYourTDs (2-7) VS La Flama Blanca (6-3)
TDs has really started to perform better. They will try to play spoiler this week against one of the best teams in the league. The loss of Rodgers should not be too devastating for Flama considering they have Russell Wilson. The experts expect a close game so do not let the records trick you. Flama may be looking ahead to their rematch with PD in week 12. They better be prepared for a sneaky good TDs team. TDs has scored over 130 in two straight weeks.

5. The Real McCoy (4-5) VS Weeden and Weep (4-5)
How does Weeden have 4 wins? They have been a giant killer all year. McCoy continues to be inconsistent. The stats are not in their favor. They are (4-5) even with the leagues 2nd easiest schedule. Three of their four wins include: a stat correction, Loco scoring 24 points under their average, and Babes scoring 45 points under their average. Still, they are far from out of it. The West is wide open. They will try to take advantage of another team's bye week issues again this week as Weeden is without Brady and Gordon.  Look for a McCoy victory this week as they somehow keep their playoff hopes alive.
