Week 13 Match-Up Build-Up

GAME OF THE WEEK

The Real McCoy VS La Flama Blanca
A match-up between clinched playoff combatants headlines week 13. While there may not be much to play for in this match-up, the build-up is no less meaningful. This is a measuring stick game as these teams may very well face off again in a few weeks. Both managers would love to clinch the #1 seed in terms of pride, but this years playoffs are shaping up to be the most competitive ever, meaning the #1 seed will not shield them from facing a good opponent. By far the most consistent teams all year, it would seem multiple trends would have to be bucked in order for this not to be a high scoring affair. Expect fireworks.

2. Whitner Wonderland VS El Pollo Loco
A game garnering the eyes of all managers will shape the playoff landscape in week 13. Loco will not be apart of the playoffs this year, but their team continues to look impressive. This is comforting to managers wishing for a Loco victory in order to keep their own playoff chances alive. Whitner got embarrassed last week and the sharks are beginning to circle around him. Whitner is a wanted man, and they may not survive the onslaught waiting for them each of the next two weeks. A victory for Whitner would keep the predators at bay for at least a little while, but unfortunately a win would not clinch a playoff slot unless other teams lose. This game will help decide the fates of many, do not blink.

3. Perpetual Dynasty VS Advantageous Morgans
PD clinched a playoff spot after scoring over 170 points for the 3rd time in 4 weeks. The Morgans are trying to make the consolation playoffs. Good game; warrants an audience.

4. It Ertz When I Pee VS The Reckoning Rises
TR^2 controls their own destiny in terms of playoff participation. Their optimal lineup sent a message to the league last week. They are hungry, talented, and pissed off. Look out.

5. ShowMeYourTDs VS Tavon and Only
Another week, another win for TDs. Their late season success has placed them in playoff contention for the third straight season. They do not control their own destiny, but their playoff hopes are far from over. A match-up against Tavon may be exactly what the doctor ordered.

Week 12 Match-Up Build-Up (RIVALRY WEEK 2)

GAME OF THE WEEK
Whitner Wonderland VS La Flama Blanca
Week 12 is upon us, and these two rivals aim to throw down. Perhaps the most competitive rivalry, this game has even more importance for this week as both teams try to make the playoffs. La Flama exacted revenge last week against PD. They will again be looking to win against a team that beat them earlier this season. A victory for La Flama books the flight for the playoffs. Whitner will try to bounce back after a disappointing week 11. They are extremely close to the playoffs, but even a victory here will not stamp their fate. They must keep winning. This is far and away the best match-up in a week where only 7 teams have a chance at the playoffs. Once again, a few teams will be watching Whitner, in hopes of a loss.

2. Perpetual Dynasty VS El Pollo Loco
PD is one win away from reaching the playoffs for the third straight season. Loco is not mathematically eliminated just yet but it would take three straight victories along with help along the way.

3. The Reckoning Rises VS Advantageous Morgans
RT^2 need to continue winning. They welcome Josh Gordon into their lineup. The Morgans are trying to claim a spot in the consolation.

4. ShowMeYourTDs VS It Ertz When I Pee
TDs are still fighting. Ertz gave up a long time ago.

5. The Real McCoy VS Tavon and Only
Yikes. Tavon did not even start a defense last week. Talk about giving up. McCoy has already clinched a playoff spot.

Week 11 Match-Up Build-Up

GAME OF THE WEEK
Perpetual Dynasty VS La Flama Blanca
Perhaps one of the best match-ups we have ever broken down is in store for week 11. These two teams enter week 11 as the only two teams in MFFL history to be averaging over 140 points a game this late in the season. La Flama is looking for revenge after PD put up 196 against them earlier this season. Their star studded lineup will be on full display come Sunday, as no one is on bye, a contrast to their last meeting with PD when they were without Manning and Thomas. La Flama has without a doubt been the most consistent team all season having never scored under 121 points in a game, but their opponent this week has been scoring at an unbelievable rate. PD has scored 427 points in their last two games. They broke the single game points record with 236 last week. Many managers wonder if PD has much left in the tank for this mega match-up, but there is no doubt they still feel PD can compete. In a game as close as this all the angles will be analyzed, and the fact that Dez is on bye really hurts PD's chances at a victory. This could very well be an appetizer for a potential playoff match-up. The winner of this moves one step closer to a division title and the playoffs. Under zero circumstances should you miss this game come Sunday.

2. ShowMeYourTDs VS Whitner Wonderland
A surprising anticipated match-up this late in the season takes the #2 spot in week 11. Both teams are extremely hot. Whitner has won 6 of 7, while TDs is averaging 140 points per game in their last four match-ups. Something has to give. Even though Whitner has more wins, TDs is playing better, and they come into this match-up as the favorite. There will be many TD fans this week as managers around the league need Whitner to lose. TDs is known for getting wins late in the year and a win here will keep their playoff hopes alive, but a win for Whitner may seal the fate of other managers around the league.

3. The Real McCoy VS El Pollo Loco
Two teams with playoff aspirations do battle in the West Division. McCoy welcomes back their star players off of bye. They will look to raise their point total this week after two weeks of underperforming ball. Loco desperately needs wins, but not having stars for this week will really hinder their chances of obtaining a victory. These two teams have been at opposite ends of the spectrum for their entire careers. Loco has been by far the most unlucky team in the league in the first 3 seasons, while McCoy has had good fortune throughout their MFFL career. We would not expect much to chance this week as the fantasy Gods have taken interest in McCoy’s season and thusly left Loco to figure out their own problems.

4. The Reckoning Rises VS Tavon and Only
A team still fighting for a playoff spot takes on an opponent trying to be the spoiler. This season has not been what either of these two managers expected. Both teams looked strong after the draft, but entering week 11 both teams are on a five game losing streak. Reck has to win out in order to have a chance at the playoffs, which may be doable as three of their last four opponents are the 8th, 9th, and 10th, ranked teams in the league. If Reck beats all three of them, then they will enter week 14 against Whitner with a possible playoff spot on the line. The season is far from over for Reckoning, their schedule will allow them to cause drama come December.

5. It Ertz When I Pee VS Advantageous Morgans
For the Morgans this season has been one of great disappointment but great character building. It used to be said that the Morgans give up on teams that do not play well. That clearly has been debunked this season. For Ertz I give you this video:

Week 10 Match-Up Build-Up

GAME OF THE WEEK

El Pollo Loco VS The Reckoning Rises
A season deciding clash headlines the week 10 match-ups. Profiled here are two teams in desperation mode. Two of the favorites to win the West Division at the beginning of this season have watched two other teams jump ahead of them in the divisional standings. This season has been one of frustration for both managers but there are lights at the end of the tunnel. At this time last season Whitner was (4-5) and TDs was (2-7), both teams finished (4-1) respectively, (8-2) combined. No one thought Whitner had a shot and the playoffs while also thinking that TDs was doomed to finish in last place. This is fantasy football, expect the unexpected. The playoffs are in reach for both teams.
Loco comes into this match-up off a loss, but they are still playing well. In 3 of their last 5 games they have scored at least 120 points. They get some key players healthy and off bye for the game this week. In the next four weeks Loco plays Reck, McCoy, PD, and Whitner. If loco makes the playoffs it will be well deserved and they will probably be one of the hottest teams in the league.
Reck have lost 4 straight games. They continue to wait for players to join their lineup in weeks 11 and 12. Fortunately for Reckoning their next four games are against Loco, Tavon, Morgans, and Ertz. Those four teams have a combined (11-25) record. Reckoning needs to continue to hope, their playoff dreams are closer than they think. The addition of Josh Gordon in week 12 is like adding 20 points per week out of nowhere. Those extra 20 points would put him near his career average week to week.
While both managers may be feeling low at the moment, their time in the sun is coming. If history is any lesson it would be fair to assume one of these teams is about to catch fire.

2. Whitner Wonderland VS The Real McCoy
The top two teams in the West Division battle for supremacy in week 10. McCoy has the best record entering week 10 in MFFL history (8-1). They survived last week to beat their hated rival by 9 points, scoring 107. Since week 2 only one team has scored over 101 points against McCoy, leading to 5 games in which the opposition did not even score 100. Even more crazy, McCoy achieved a stat correction victory the one time a team came to play against them within that span. The facts are simple. The stars have aligned for McCoy this season. Let us not forget that everyone thought TDs was going to draft Forte in August, instead TDs took Peterson and the rest as they say is history. McCoy has taken the good fortunes in stride and put together one of the best teams in the league. Good luck combined with good managing sets the stage for a great season. (8-1) entering week 10 would support that notion.
Whitner continued to widen the gap, from other teams trying to make the playoffs, by winning their fifth game in six tries in week 9. Their team is on fire and they now hope to claim revenge on a team that beat them earlier in the year. Whitner has been dedicated and committed all season, and they are seeing the benefits. They are in great position to make the playoffs yet again.
There are bye week blues for both teams this week. The winner will mostly like survive in a close, relatively low scoring game.

3. ShowMeYourTDs VS Advantageous Morgans
Two teams with playoff histories will try to salvage their seasons in week 10. As mentioned earlier, there are typically two teams who get hot at the end of the season when no one expects it. Both of these teams are hoping it will be them. TDs have talent at every position. This is supported by their ability to score points; they have at least 123 in three straight games. TDs still believes they have a shot at the playoffs and the numbers support their hopes and dreams. The Morgan’s drive and determination has been on full display all year. Their character should be modeled by every manager in the league.

4. La Flama Blanca VS ItErtzWhenIPee
Ertz is quietly blowing up in recent weeks. The question will be if they can maintain it long enough to make a playoff run. La Flama is coming off of a disappointing week 9 performance but their goals are still well in reach for this season. This game projects to be high scoring.

5. Perpetual Dynasty VS Tavon and Only
Tavon nearly survived with a win in week 9 but ultimately lost by 1 point. They will hope for a stat correction victory on Thursday. PD scored 191 points last week. It is the second time they have scored over 190 this year. They now get their full arsenal into their starting lineup for week 10 with the expected return of Calvin Johnson from injury. Expect Tavon to keep it closer than the experts think with a healthy Green and players coming off byes.
