Week 4 Match-Up Build-Up

GAME OF THE WEEK

Perpetual Dynasty VS La Flama Blanca
Perhaps the most tangibly important game of the season is on tap for week 4's game of the week. PD vs Flama has massive divisional and playoff implications. Flama has started (3-0) in 2014 after a championship in 2013. Their success as of late is simply remarkable. Their 134 PPG average in 2014 is tops in the league and only 3 points less than PD's career average of 137. La Flama is gunning for something they did not have a season ago... an East Division Crown.
Standing in their way is the two time reigning East Division champ, Perpetual Dynasty. PD scored a putrid 88 points in week 3, but many managers and fans believe that was an aberration rather than a trend. Their squad is still incredibly talented. PD can prove that assumption as factual with a victory over their divisional foe. PD has staked their claim to this division. Over the first three years they have a (16-1) divisional record.
Flama's master plan will have to be orchestrated without Peyton Manning and Demaryius Thomas, while PD will be without A.J. Green and Seattle Defense. The East Division still goes through Perpetual Dynasty, but this week could send a resounding message if Flama is to win: The tides have turned and I, La Flama Blanca, am now the top dog. Are there any real reasons for some one to miss this game? No. Get the Kettle corn ready.

2. El Pollo Loco VS The Real McCoy
Something has to give in this week's #2 match-up. predictably, The Real McCoy bounced back in week 3 with a victory after a week 2 defeat. They are a resilient team. While their final score of 115 left much to be desired, the fact is they won, and that is all that matters. They have yet another chance to prove they can win consistently in week 4, but it will not be easy against the likes of El Pollo Loco.
Loco's trade for Jennings and crabtree compelled them to a victory in week 3. Their team looks completely different from the one we saw in week 1. They have re-established themselves as playoff contenders and they can get back to .500 with a win against McCoy
Will Loco's luck improve? Will McCoy win back to back games? This week's #2 match-up is likely to answer at least one of these questions.

3. The Reckoning Rises VS ShowMeYourTDs
Back to back wins for each manager sets the theme for the #3 match-up. Reckoning have turned a corner after a disappointing week 1. They enter this week as the #2 team in the league. Their victory over Ertz in week 3 was of little surprise, but it was certainly much closer than TR^2 had hoped.
TDs has certainly lived up to the Dr. Squeeze nickname. They squeeze victories from their opponents seemingly every week. They will need the magic to continue in week 4 considering Peterson, Ellington, and Sanders are all out.
Reck enters this match-up as a heavy favorite for a 2nd consecutive week. TD's lineup looks like the island of misfit toys. If TD's is to win they will, in all likely hood, need 60 combined points from Brees and Brown, which is certainly possible. Outside of that scenario happening it is hard for Reckoning to not have mucho confidenciocho heading into week 4.

4. Advantageous Morgans VS Tavon & Only
Two teams desperately in need of victories will fight in week 4. Considering the talent on each team, it is surprising to see them in such dire straights. The quality of the East Division certainly puts more importance on this match-up early in the season. Neither team has much more room for error, but both have plenty of potential. It is still extremely early and both of the squads are far from finished.

Week 3 Match-Up Build-Up

GAME OF THE WEEK

Perpetual Dynasty VS The Real McCoy
The best match-up of week 3 features two managers with a decorated past. The Real McCoy won the championship in 2012; undoubtedly their greatest achievement. While they will never forget or diminish such a prize, it is clear the honeymoon period is over. McCoy has been fighting week to week since the start of the 2013 season. After a dominating week 1 performance in 2014, the tides seemed to be turning. But, after a devastating loss to their nemesis Reckoning in week 2, The Real McCoy find themselves in familiar territory. 10 of their 14 regular season wins, spanning two years, have come after a loss. While this proves they are a resilient team, this is a stat McCoy would most certainly like to change.
Typically slow starters, Perpetual Dynasty have started the 2014 season better than they ever have before. Their strong beginning is a good sign for PD fans, as some were worried this team could not recover from back to back week 1 playoff defeats. PD has endured, and now they will attempt to continue their early season success against a tough opponent. PD knows the trends, and the trends would suggest McCoy is ready to exploded, which is obviously unsettling for PD.
There are great players abound for this game. McCoy's match-ups are great; they are playing against the likes of Jacksonville, Detroit, Kansas City, Minnesota, and Oakland. PD hopes his stellar WR core, featuring Bryant, Green, and Nelson, can help him against such a deep and even team. PD will need a strong start come sunday; 8 of his 9 players perform at 1:00PM. Do not miss this match-up...it is the best of the week.

2. La Flama Blanca VS Tavon & Only
The East Division's fate will start to come into shape after this match-up. La Flama are simply stunning. Their recent success over the last two seasons has cemented them as a top manager in this league. They look even stronger this year, which is a frightening thought for other managers, considering Flama won the ship in 2013.
Tavon fell back to earth in week 2 scoring only 70 points. They will look to prove their worth in the East Division on Sunday. They are off to a great start this week after Matty Ice lit it up on Thursday. This is a huge divisional game. Must See.

3. ShowMeYourTDs VS Advantageous Morgans
The lesser of two East Divisional clashes still has much on the line. The Morgans are a surprise (0-2) team, but history indicates they will bounce back. They need to get better production out of their RB's in order to be successful moving forward. TDs escaped with a win last week, but whats new. They will look to survive after the AP disaster. This might be a must win for both managers. The fact remains each of these teams can beat anyone any week.

4. El Pollo Loco VS Whitner Wonderland
Loco needs a win. Their luck continues to be the worst in the league. If anyone has a right to complain it is them. Whitner ran into PD last week but they still performed well. They still look like a team to watch in the 2014 season. A win for either team could dictate the direction of their season. West Division Pride. Loco's team will start to improve, especially after a trade in which they acquired 4 important players. They just have to get through the early season storm.

5. The Reckoning Rises VS It Ertz When I Pee
Rises may of had their biggest win in franchise history in week 2. The only thing stopping them this week is a potential trap game against Ertz. Ertz is more than likely without Charles. Tree Fiddy.

Match-Up Build-Up Week 2

GAME OF THE WEEK

The Real McCoy VS The Reckoning Rises

When the 2014 MFFL schedules were released everyone circled this game. Not only are these two managers drenched in tradition but they have been smack talking each other since the offseason. It all started around the watering hole when TR^2 mentioned to McCoy how, outside of their championship loss in 2012, they own McCoy in every other match-up. McCoy responded with the classic rebuttal: Championship. It then escalated when Reckoning posted on his team page how McCoy is his number 1 rival (outside of his designated rival The Advantageous Morgans). McCoy responded in turn, stating he would be placing an emphasis on his match-up with RT^2.
Now, all the talking stops, and it’s time to settle this on the field. McCoy came storming out of the gates in week 1 with a 135-110 victory over the Morgans. His team performed to their expectations with Luck, Gronk, Cobb, and Vereen all answering the bell. The biggest question for McCoy remains the same, can his team perform week to week and be consistent. Reckoning lost in week 1 to the defending champs of 2013, but do not count them out. They are most successful when they are doubted. His team remains strong with players like Nelson, Jeffery, kaep/Wilson, and of course LeSean McCoy. Look for Reckoning to perform better this week, and if history is any lesson, look for McCoy to slightly regress from week 1, although McCoy’s team in 2014 is not destined to share the traits of 2013. An intense day is in store for both gentlemen on Sunday. A victory for either of them would cement a sense of joy that will last until the end of time. DO NOT MISS THIS MATCH-UP

2. La Flama Blanca VS The Advantageous Morgans

2013 Championship Rematch. What more needs to be said. La Flama picked up where he left off with a victory to start the 2014 season. His team was carried by stellar performances out of Manning, Bell, and  Olsen. He looks locked and loaded to compete for a playoff spot yet again in 2014. The Morgans are looking to bounce back after a week 1 defeat. His star performers, Foles, Marshall, and Graham need to step up in week 2. The Morgans acquired C.J. Spiller mid week, in hopes of improving his weekly point potential. There is no doubt The Morgans want revenge after La Flama embarrassed him in the championship a year ago. Expect the points to be close with the hungrier manager ending on top.

3. Tavon & Only VS ShowMeYourTDs

Two managers trying to break through mediocrity square off in what is sure to be one hell of a match-up. Tavon exploded out of the gates with a 140 point performance in week 1. His team was dubbed “Best team” after the draft and they have not disappointed. He is simply loaded. Unfortunately for Tavon his match-ups this week are tough on his stars. Looking to catch Tavon on a down week is ShowMeYourTDS. TDs lost in week 1 to PD and they need a victory to maintain pace in the East Division. Their team is not without talent as Brees and Peterson are bound to perform better. TDs is going to improve, and this may be the perfect week to play Tavon. This is a hugely important underrated game.

4. Perpetual Dynasty VS Whitner Wonderland

Division leaders fight for division pride. PD may be listed as number two in his division, but his (1-0) divisional record means he is currently the division leader. His team performed well against TDs in a winning effort, but 17 combined points between Rodgers and Bryant means his team certainly underperformed. He will need his stars to carry him if he is to have success in 2014. Whitner scored the most points in week 1. His momentum from 2013 has carried over and there is not a single team in this league who wants to play him. His veteran heavy team is especially deadly in the early weeks, as injuries and fatigue have yet to burden his old vets. That fact that a match-up between division leaders is number 4 in anticipation proves how special week 2, 2014 can be. This is a massive early season match-up.

5. El Pollo Loco VS It Ertz When I Pee

Two teams needing a win battle in week 2. Neither manager got the start they wanted. Their teams need to improve. Loco just can’t get over the injury bug as Newton was benched in week 1. Ertz simply needs to perform better. Expect both teams to play better in week 2, after all, does week 1 really  matter? Probably not.

Week 1 MFFL 2014

So it begins, Here..We..Go, We have our Heading....Football is Back

GAME OF THE WEEK

Perpetual Dynasty VS ShowMeYourTDs

The 2014 MFFL season Kicks off with a Must See Match-Up, as perennial league juggernaut Perpetual Dynasty welcomes Dr. Squeeze and his group of cop a feel players to PD Field House. Managers had this match-up circled once team rosters were announced, but the stakes soared even higher after ShowMeYourTDs acquired Drew Brees from Ertz, for what some may say a minimal cost. TDs traded for Brees without giving up any of their first 3 picks, meaning Ertz did not even receive a top 30 player for Drew Brees.......
TDs is now led by Drew Brees, Adrian Peterson, and Antonio Brown. His confidence is sky high, as it should be. This is without a doubt his best chance to finally beat his East Division foe, Perpetual Dynasty. While PD has never put much stock into winning week 1, they feel this match-up is more important based on the all out attack by TDs to take the East Division crown. PD brings some stars to the concert as well, as Aaron Rodgers, Dez Bryant, and A.J. Green look to continue PD's proud tradition. This match-up is to close to call on paper. It features 2 of the top 3 teams with the best winning percentages in MFFL history (TDs is tied with Loco for 3rd all time). TDs looks to stake claim to the East Division, while PD tries to squash the rebellion. Do not look away from Week 1's GAME OF THE WEEK.

2. La Flama Blanca VS The Reckoning Rises

The Champ is here. La Flama starts his quest for a 2peat against a worthy opponent. Any thoughts about La Flama having a one and done championship quickly faded when they acquired Peyton Manning, Demaryius Thomas, and Leveon Bell in the draft. They start this season with a better team, on paper, than last year's, when La Flama turned a worst draft award into a championship. Standing in their way in week 1 is none other than The Reckoning Rises. TdoubleR(The Reckoning Rises) is determined to bounce back after a down season in 2013(high standards considering they almost made the playoffs). Their team is currently projected to finish 11-2-1 by the Yahoo metrics, meaning they drafted well. Lesean, Jordy, Alshon....WHAT! RdoubleT hopes to use Flama's star from last year, Lesean McCoy, against them to start the season. This match-up may not mean much for the long term, but anytime two teams of this caliber meet, its time to get the popcorn ready.

3. Advantageous Morgans VS The Real McCoy

Two Teams with championship aspirations square of in the number 3 match-up for week 1. The Morgans had a fantastic 2013 campaign finishing 2nd in the final MFFL standings, after losing to La Flama in the championship. They now have a target on their back. The first team attempting to hit their mark is The Real McCoy. McCoy fell back to earth, after a championship in 2012, with a 4th to last finish in 2013. McCoy hopes a better draft this season will help them right the course. It is important for both teams to start the season off with a win. McCoy feels disrespected and wants to return to former glory, while the Morgans aim to maintain momentum gained in 2013. McCoy may be looking ahead to their week 2 match-up against TdoubleR, but this still a great match-up for week 1.

4. El Pollo Loco VS Tavon & Only

A match-up deserving more attention slips into number 4 for week 1. Both Tavon and Loco are looking to make the playoffs for the first time. Tavon had perhaps the best draft, acquiring guys like Megatron, Montee Ball, and Doug Martin. There is no doubt that this is the best Tavon team this league has ever seen. Loco will try to combat this with a dominant RB core featuring Eddie Lacy and Demarco Murray. Loco has been so close each of the last two seasons, sparking many managers to believe loco is ready to make a jump in 2014. Two hungry managers trying eat in week 1 walk into the same buffet line.

5. It Ertz When I Pee VS Witner Wonderland

Ertz traded Brees. Witner is trying to make the playoffs for a second straight season. They were West Division champs in 2013 making them a wanted man. With all the hungry managers in the West trying to take a bite, Witner will have to shock the world in 2014. They drafted well and will definitely compete, but do they have the drive and determination like the teams below them. Week 1 may shed some light.
