Match-Up Build-Up Week 17 Championship

1. The Perpetual Dynasty vs 2. El Pollo Loco
The MFFL championship game has arrived. This year it pits previous rivals against each other, in an all out do or die scenario. It's a match-up with one team on a 7 game winning streak, while the other has won 6 of 7. TPD and Loco have separated from the pack, and now they will lock horns to see who holds sway at the top of the food chain.

TPD continued to roll in their semi-final match-up scoring 168 points, the most for the week yet again. In scoring 168 points, TPD set a semi-finals record. TPD is once again on the precipice of history, a place they have been many times before. A win this week would secure their 4th MFFL championship, specifically their 4th in the last 6 years. A win would also cement their team as being the greatest of all time. It was simply an all time historic draft, made even better after their trade for Adams. But perhaps TPD's greatest move, was the moves they didn't make. How often does TPD hold onto their 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 7th round picks? Never is the answer, but this season, they knew they had something special from the minute the draft ended. Even after slow starts from Taylor, Allen, and Pitts, none of them were ever available for trade. TPD's faith was rewarded in the biggest of ways. They hope the players return the faith in kind, and secure the ultimate goal come Sunday.

Loco's second half resurgence carried over into the first round of the playoffs, where they scored 137 and beat McCoy for a third time this season. Everything is coming together for this roster. Guys are getting healthy and stepping up, just when needed most. This is Loco's 2nd championship appearance in the last three years, as they chase after their first title. Unquestionably their best season ever, it would become even sweeter if they were to beat TPD in the championship. They will try to turn previous TPD players against them, as Pittman and Carter were both acquired from TPD, and both have become weekly producers for Loco. Loco's been able to survive at RB since the CMC injury, but they will be hoping for more out of their RBs this week. Mahomes has returned to MVP form, while their WRs and TE have carried them all season.

The lineups for both squads are potent. Both teams have star players in smash spots, so expectations should be to witness a high scoring affair, with the last team holding the ball likely coming out on top. The two best teams this season are ready for war, both bringing their A game. What more could you ask for? The stage is set for one hell of a show. Get, your, popcorn, ready.

Match-Up Build-Up Week 16 Semi-Final Playoff Edition

The playoffs are here. The final spots were secured last night in thrilling fashion, as multiple match-ups came down to the 4th quarter of the final NFL games. The final four is set. Throw out the records, the playoffs are a different animal.

1. The Perpetual Dynasty (12-3) vs 4. Chicken Noodle Coop (8-7)
TPD closed out their season in style, wining their seventh straight game. The dominance this team displayed all season has been well documented, as they set multiple league records this year. Overall, this marks their 8th playoff appearance in 10 seasons, as they are looking to secure their 4th MFFL championship. This may be the best TPD team we have seen, a tall statement, but the numbers do not lie. Kupp, Taylor, and Allen are the three current overall fantasy points leaders. The three best players in fantasy this year are all on the same team, the team that drafted them. Simply unbelievable. TPD has scored below 130 just once since week 5. A win over this team in the playoffs would be a shocking upset, but it has happened to TPD before, in the 2012, 2013, and 2014 playoffs, when everyone thought TPD was unbeatable then too. This team will go down in history no matter what happens in the playoffs, but it will be remembered as the greatest fantasy football team ever if they close it out, and win their 4th ship in the last 6 years.

Coop has now made the playoffs in each of their first two season's of MFFL ball. It was an up and down season, evidenced by an 83 point week to close out the regular season, but they secured a playoff spot by playing well down the stretch and winning 3 out of 5. What Coop has done in their first two seasons is remarkable. They came in cold, off the street, and have gone toe to toe with the big boys for two straight seasons. They have caught the fantasy fever, and they are here to stay, as a yearly contender. They are looking for their 2nd straight championship appearance, and first ever ship. With nothing to lose this week, expect them to come out with their hair on fire.

2. El Pollo Loco (9-6) vs 4. The Real McCoy (8-7)
El Pollo Loco enters the playoffs on the heels of their best season and first West Division Championship. They finished 3rd in total points, and started playing their best ball down the stretch, winning 5 out of their last 6 games. Crazy as it sounds, their hot streak began right around the time CMC went on season ending IR. Who would have thought? They have been carried by their WRs and Mark Andrews down the stretch. The Chiefs game this week is important for both of these teams. It will be hard for Loco to start Mahomes, with Hill and Kelce on covid, but McCoy has Hill, so Loco may want that to actually happen, as they can find a replacement QB. This is now their 2nd playoff appearance out of the last 3 seasons, and they will be hoping for a return trip to the title game, after making it in 2019. They are fighting for their first MFFL title.

McCoy is in the playoffs once again, like TPD the 8th time in 10 seasons, but this season has looked nothing like McCoy teams of the past. Last week they balled out in a must win game, scoring 140 points, but before that they had been averaging 101 ppg in their last four. They've struggled maintaining high point totals during the second half of the season. Luckily, McCoy has a ton of playoff experience to lean on. Look for them to put their best team out their, and hope for the best. Never count this team out, though they have struggled in the playoffs. They are (3-7) in their last 10 playoff games, after winning championships in 2012 and 2014. They will be hoping to get back to the glory of old.

Match-Up Build-Up Week 15

The final week of the regular season is here! We'll break down the playoff scenarios below. TPD is in, with the top overall seed. They scored 202 points last week, while their opponent scored 182. The fact that they are (11-3) considering how hard their schedule has been is truly amazing, and speaks to how dominant their team has been. TPD broke their 2014 season points record of 2079, scoring 2083 this season in 14 games. Obviously with the 15th regular season game on the schedule, they will shatter the previous record this week. The only thing holding TPD back could be that their players best weeks are behind, which has happened many times before. TPD will hope it does not happen again, and will likely get creative with their playoff starting lineups.

-El Pollo Loco (8-6) Loco is in, and in all likelihood as the 2nd or 3rd seed. A win would secure them the West Division, and likely the 2nd seed. There is a chance they could win, and be the 3rd seed, but that is only if Coop wins too, while scoring 92 more points than Loco in week 15. If they lose, it opens the door for Baker to win the West. Loco would still be the 2nd or 3rd seed however, because playoff seeding is based on record, then points, rather than division title.

-Chicken Noodle Coop (8-6) Coop is likely in as well, though there is still a scenario in which they could miss the playoffs. If loco loses, and Baker and McCoy win, then Baker would win the West, Loco would get in as a tie breaker because of his points, and McCoy could get in as a tiebreaker because they could end up with more points than Coop. If Coop wins, they are in. If either McCoy or Baker lose, they are in.

-Baker's Chubbin (7-7) Unfortunately for Baker, winning does not automatically secure them a spot, because Loco, Coop, and McCoy all have the points tiebreaker over them. They need to win, as a loss would knock them out completely. The best case for them would be to win, and then have Loco lose, that way they win the West, securing an automatic bid. If they win, and McCoy loses, then they would get in. No matter how it shakes out, a playoff spot for Baker would be as the 4th seed, because of how low their point total is.

-The Real McCoy (7-7) McCoy's downturn in play could not have come at a worse time. They now have to win, or they risk missing out. There is a scenario in which they could get in, even with a loss, but it would take Baker and LFB losing too. They can't win the West, so if they get in, it will be as a wild card. There is also a chance they could miss the playoffs even with a win. If Loco loses and Baker wins, then Baker would win the West, and Loco would take one of the wild card spots. They will be routing for Loco to win this week, as it would help them out tremendously.

-La Flama Blanca (6-7-1) Poor LFB. They scored 182 last week, have the 2nd most points in the league, but will likely miss the playoffs. They need to win, and have both McCoy and Baker lose. Which actually now writing this, is't that far fetched. Their large point total could save the day. Their tie earlier in the year could also help. If they win, and Baker and McCoy lose, then the playoffs would feature LFB, TPD, Loco, and Coop.

-Stros and Bo may end up with the same record as some playoff teams, but they cannot get in because of how poor their point totals are. Stros would have to explode, while having McCoy lose, while scoring a low point total at the same time.

Match-Up Build-Up Week 14

TPD has clinched the East Division and top overall seed for the playoffs. The remaining three spots are up for grabs. We'll detail below each team's path to the playoffs. What a crazy year it has been. The current #2 team in the league has a (7-6) record. An incredible 6 teams are still in the hunt for the final three playoff spots, the most ever entering the final two weeks of the season.

El Pollo Loco (7-6) - Loco is 2nd in the overall standings and 1st in the West. They control their own destiny. Two more wins and they are in. Because they play Bo this week, a win this week, coupled with a Baker and LFB loss, would secure a spot. There is a chance they can make the playoffs even if they lose their next two games, but the odds would be tough. They have a massive point advantage over Bo and Baker, which is huge from a tie breaker stand point towards making the playoffs. But, both Bo and Baker have better divisional records, meaning Loco may have to risk getting in as a wild card, as divisional record is the main tie breaker for division championships. Winning the West would be ideal, that way they are not competing with teams in the east for wild card spots. They have an easier remaining schedule than McCoy, the team directly behind them in the West

The Real McCoy (7-6) - Like Loco, McCoy controls their own destiny. They also have a big point advantage over Baker and Bo. They had a poor showing a week ago, and continue to be up in down week to week. They play Baker and Bo in their final two games, the two teams one game behind them in the West. McCoy has the worst divisional record of anyone in the West, meaning they would have to win out, and get help, in order to win the West. McCoy's high point total will go a long way in terms of playoff tie breaking though. These next two games are pretty much "play-in" games for McCoy. If both Loco and McCoy lose this week, the west would have a four way tie at the top, setting up literal play-in games next week. Unbelievable.

Chicken Noodle Coop (7-6) - Coop secured a massive victory last week against McCoy. It was absolutely necessary for their playoff chances, and now they control their own destiny, like Loco and McCoy, even though they can't win the East division. They need another win this week, just like everyone else, it is that close. At the very least they will be hoping LFB loses to TPD this week. They play LFB in the final week of the season, which could be yet another play-in game. Their point total lags behind Loco and McCoy, but is more than Bo and Baker. What would be best for them is Bo and Baker losing, that way they wouldn't have to deal with tie breakers against McCoy and Loco, if they all end up with the same record.

Baker's Chubbin' and Unstopa-Bo are both (6-7). They likely have to win out to get in, and even then, it wouldn't be completely secured. The goal for both of them is to win the West, as they have the two best divisional records in the West. If it comes down to a points tie breaker for a wild card, neither of these teams are likely to get in. Baker has scored the 2nd fewest points, while Bo has scored the 3rd fewest. It is honestly remarkable both of these teams are still in the hunt.

La Flama Blanca - (6-6-1) LFB likely has to win out and get help along the way. There is a small chance they could make the playoffs if they go (1-1) down the stretch, but that would be difficult. They are second in points scored, which is one of the main reasons they are still alive. Their tie earlier in the year will either help them or hurt them, depending on how it all shakes out. Either way, that tie was way better than a loss.

ShowMeYourTDs - (5-7-1) TDs technically isn't out of it, but they have to win out, and get a crazy amount of help.
