Week 9 Match-Up Build-Up

GAME OF THE WEEK
The Real McCoy VS The Reckoning Rises
Here we go again. Words cannot express the importance of this match-up. As was the case in week 2, when Reckoning won 134 to 92, this game means so much more than a number in the win column. These two teams do not like one another and their history goes way back.
McCoy has put together one of the best seasons in MFFL history. Their one loss this season was the only time they scored under 115 points. They hope to put on a better performance in the re-match with Reckoning, but as McCoy mentioned a month ago, Cobb and Forte are on bye, and McCoy expressed then that he would lose this match-up. After his team’s performance over the last month, it is safe to wonder if his confidence has changed. He has been on fire and one of the best teams all year. We’ll see what McCoy has left in the tank after the greatest game in MFFL history last week. They tied 183-183 with Ertz. Stat corrections pending.
Reckoning have lost 3 games in a row. They desperately need a victory to keep pace in the playoff race. A victory this week would cure everything that ails them, considering their team will only get better down the stretch. There is no doubt that playing McCoy without two of their best players is a good thing for Reckoning, but the fact that McCoy conceded so long ago is something that Reckoning has not forgotten, and they aim continue their winning streak over their most hated rival regardless of circumstance. This game means more for Reckoning in the grand scheme of things, but getting swept by Reckoning again is the last thing McCoy wants to endure for the entirety of another off season. Blood shall be spilt.

2. El Pollo Loco VS ItErtzWhenIPee
Loco has caught fire and are now only two games back from the 4th slotted playoff team. Their squad has shown vast improvements in the last month and they are starting to look like the team every one expected them to be. As the playoffs near, Loco is beginning to strike fear in the hearts of teams around them. Not unlike the last two league champions, Loco is getting hot at the right time. They now face an Ertz team who is coming off an 183 point week.
Ertz has been up and down all season but they are feeling confident after such a strong game in week 8. Ertz could make it into the playoff picture if they win and other teams lose ahead of them. They will continue to fight.

3. Whitner Wonderland VS Tavon and Only
Whitner got a big win over Reckoning last week and now have sole possession of the 4th playoff slot entering week 9. Their team continues to produce and they are one to watch moving forward. A second consecutive playoff appearance would cement their league status as a manager to fear.Tavon is struggling to win games but they are still only two games back in the playoff picture. If they can win some games soon then they will have a chance to make waves.

4. Perpetual Dynasty VS Advantageous Morgans
PD continues to win but they are not scoring points. They have to start playing better if they want to maintain their current position. Who would have thought PD would be flying under the radar with a (6-2) record heading into week 9. The Morgans continue to work to get better and they have a good chance of getting a victory against a bye week ridden PD team. This match-up will be extremely close.

5. La Flama Blanca VS ShowMeYourTDs
TDs look to the skies for a miracle.

Week 8 Match-Up Build-Up

GAME OF THE WEEK

Whitner Wonderland VS The Reckoning Rises
One of the biggest games of the season headlines the week 8 match-ups. This matchup carries division pride, playoff implications, and bad blood. Last season Whitner stole the division crown from Reckoning en route to a playoff appearance. Reckoning has never forgotten. Whitner comes into this match-up having won 3 of 4. They have been one of the most consistent teams all season, but they feature many players from an ertz team that was successful at the start of last season, Arian and Julio, which could be cause for concern considering Ertz lost 8 straight games to finish 2013. Whitner’s success will be directly tied to their health the rest of the way.
Reckoning have lost 2 in a row and they are struggling to put up points having only scored over 115 twice all season. This seems like a simple fix however once reckoning reach full strength and their game day management returns to its elite level. They will look to put all the right pieces in place in a must win game for their franchise. They have already guaranteed a victory over Whitner.
This matchup features the two previous West Division winners, so you know it is good. Both teams are desperate to keep pace in the current West race and both managers would love to knock their division foe down a peg or two.

2. Advantageous Morgans VS La Flama Blanca
Blanca continues to dominate, Morgans have won two straight. Something has to give.

3. El Pollo Loco VS ShowMeYourTDs
The winner of this game will only be one game back of the loser between Whitner and Reck. I would say that incentive enough to win. This is a very big game.

4. The Real McCoy VS ItErtzWhenIPee
Ertz is praying for a down week by McCoy, but since teams are only averaging 101 points a game against McCoy it probably won’t matter.

5. Perpetual Dynasty VS Tavon and Only
     Divisional Game.

Week 7 Match-Up Build-Up

GAME OF THE WEEK

The Real McCoy VS Whitner Wonderland
The top match-up of week 7 features two teams battling for ground in the west division. The Real McCoy enter week 7 on fire. They are averaging 150 points per game over their last 3 contests. This is their best start in a long while, and McCoy hopes to continue it against a strong Whitner team. McCoy knows this pace cannot continue, especially since they have avoided they injury bug all season, with seemingly not a single player missing game time, but they have set themselves up to succeed even if they regress towards the mean.
Whitner continues to win games in the competitive MFFL. They have clearly proven they belong in this league. Their strong start has positioned them to make a run at the playoffs for a 2nd consecutive season. Week to week there are not many other teams managers fear more than Whitner.
Both squads are carried by strong starting lineups that will have to maintain health in order to continue their success The winner of this match-up takes one step closer to the playoffs and a division crown.

2. El Pollo Loco VS The Reckoning Rises
Another West division clash highlights the #2 match-up. Reckoning were stunned with a 114-113 loss to the Morgans in week 6. They were most upset with their point total more than anything else. Their 4-2 record is a great start, but they want to score more points to prove to people that their first few wins were not due to an easy schedule. They now face a team who just scored 150 in week 6.
Loco's poor luck is simply becoming painful for every manager in the league. Their 150 points were the third highest in the league last week, yet they still lost. Managers around the league are beginning to feel bad for a team that works as hard as they do week to week. Still, this is a competitive league, and managers will not let up an inch in their match-ups against them.
This game means much more to loco in the grand scheme of things, but Reckoning are out to prove a point, and they want this win badly. The winner here may be decided by the WRs. Both teams are starting 3 of them, and whoever out performs the other will set themselves up nicely for a victory.

3. Perpetual Dynasty VS ItErtzWhenIPee
PD got a much needed win a week ago. So did Ertz. This match-up is closer than the experts think. Do not blink.

4. La Flama Blanca VS ShowMeYourTDs
Both teams are looking to rebound after losses. This is a big East Division clash. Many odds makers have Flama in a landslide, but TDs still has talent. TDs are bound to play better after a 47 point game in week 6.

5. Tavon and Only VS The Advantageous Morgans
MUST WIN GAME for both teams. On paper the Morgans look like clear favorites, but that is why they play the game.

Week 6 Match-Up Build-Up (RIVALRY WEEK #1)

GAME OF THE WEEK

Whitner Wonderland VS La Flama Blanca
The most even rivalry in the league headlines the week 6 match-ups. La Flama head into week 6 after a bounce back performance in week 5. They scored over 180 points en route to a victory over El Pollo loco. Their team continues to be one of the best. All they do is win. Whitner has surprised people for the second consecutive season. They look like a true playoff contender entering week 6. The combination of Lynch and Foster has carried them up to this point, and if they continue to win games you can expect both RBs to be the catalysts.
Flama is certainly the favorite for this clash, but this is much closer than the experts think. Whitner's squad looks strong for this week; they are gonna give Flama all they got. Flama will certainly come back to earth after a 180 performance, the question is how far? Whitner hopes its a steep fall.

2. Perpetual Dynasty VS El Pollo Loco
The #2 match-up is an anticipated match-up every year. The overwhelming consistency of the Loco franchise is their poor luck. Loco would tell you they need better production across the board, which is true, but they currently have the toughest schedule in the league, which is a big reason for their lack of success. The combination of an easier schedule with better player performances could lead to a big win streak for Loco in the near future.
The road has not been much easier for PD as they hold the 2nd toughest schedule in the league entering week 6. Their last four games have been against 4 of the top 5 teams in the league. They are without some big name stars for week 6, but they still have enough talent to achieve a victory.
This is one of the closest games on paper for week 6. This could be a defining game for both franchises.

3. The Reckoning Rises VS The Advantageous Morgans
A team looking to continue their strong start faces a winless squad in week 6. Reckoning currently sit in 2nd place after a 182 point performance against PD. It was one of the biggest wins in their franchise's history. Still, Reckoning's start is a bit perplexing. They have the easiest schedule in the league, by 1 point, but that was against the likes of PD, McCoy, and La Flama, three of the better teams in the league. Their next two opponents have are a combined (1-9) record. This has the makings of an unbelievable season. Quite frankly Reckoning does not need an easy schedule to be successful, they have a good team, but their soft match-ups week to week could continue for a long while.
The Morgans have been so close to obtaining victories in almost every game, only to have it taken away from them on Monday night. This is clearly a must win game for The Morgans. Look for them to play inspired football.

4. Tavon and Only VS The Real McCoy
This match-up got some buzz earlier in the week because of a big trade, but the injury to AJ Green lessens the anticipation. Many believe this is McCoy's game to lose, but this the game of fantasy football and the unexpected is expected. Tavon were lucky to win last week after only scoring 89 points. Anymore performances like that and they will be falling from the rankings.

5. ShowMeYourTDs VS It Ertz When I Pee
     Jay Cutler                                     Drew Brees
     Ray Rice                      for            Andre Johnson
     Antonio Gates                              Stevan Ridley
     Eddie Royal

Week 5 Match-Up Build-Up

GAME OF THE WEEK

Perpetual Dynasty VS The Reckoning Rises
Week 5 administers what is widely considered the best match-up the league can present year to year. PD vs Reckoning, the mere thought sends chills down each manager’s spine. This season’s match-up is no less meaningful as both teams will enter the game (3-1).
It would be a shame to not address what happened last week. PD almost put up a 200 burger. Their 196 points out paced the previous record of 172, set by Reckoning in 2013. While most records are eventually broken, 196 should last a while, and the number itself will carry cache. Just utter 1.9.6 and all will be understood. 196.
TR^2 have won 3 straight games. They have benefited from questionable (that’s the nice way of saying it), managerial decisions from their opponents in consecutive weeks. Their 117 PGA is 13 less than their career average. However, their best player, Lesean McCoy, has only 3 points in the last 2 games. If McCoy were playing at the level everyone expects of him, Reckoning would actually be scoring above their career average week to week. TR^2 needs a victory to keep pace with The Real McCoy in the West Division.
PD dusted La Flama Blanca in week 4 to claim the top overall spot in the MFFL. It was a message sent to the East Division: The East still goes through PD. Perpetual Dynasty has obtained a (3-1) record even with the 5th toughest schedule in the league. Conversely, the two top teams in the West, McCoy and Reck, have the two easiest schedules in the league. PD has multiple players slated for Thursday night in the rain. PD may look elsewhere just to avoid a bad start to the match-up.
There have been 555 combined points in the only two match-ups between these teams previously. WOW. Expect PD to regress and TR^2 to improve from last week. This is a show stopping match-up. As scar said to the hyenas, “Be prepared.”

2. La Flama Blanca VS El Pollo Loco
Two teams coming off blowout losses try to get back on track in this week's #2 match-up. La Flama Blanca ran into a buzz-saw last week. La Flama continues to put up big numbers and the league still considers them one of the best teams in the league. They welcome back Manning and Demaryius for week 5.
El Pollo Loco is in danger of falling behind. They need this win to keep pace in such a competitive league. They continue to make moves and it is only a matter of time until their acquisitions start paying off. Loco will be ready to play in week 5. This game has massive implications for the season as a whole. Expect a close match-up.

3. ShowMeYourTDs VS The Real McCoy
The #3 match-up is closer than some may think. McCoy continued their strong start with a victory a week ago. They have now won back to back games for the first time in a while, and their confidence is sky high. They have been lifted by Andrew Luck's unbelievable start to the season. They currently sit atop the West Division. It seems their new dedication this off-season is already paying off.
TD's is (2-2) but they still have a lot to prove. They get many of their stars back this week and the match-up on paper looks extremely close. TDs will continue to rely on Antonio Brown for unworldly production. Do not blink in this match-up as TDs is known to snatch victories when people least expect it.

4. Whitner Wonderland VS Advantageous Morgans
Two teams better than their records indicate try to get a victory in a must win game for both teams. The Morgans (0-4) start has been extremely unlucky. Their losses have been some of the most flukiest games we have ever seen. Look for them to catch fire at some point.
Whitner is a sneaky good (2-2) team. They need to get healthy in order to continue their success. Their solid start to the season is worrisome to other managers; Whitner is a notoriously strong second half team. This is a must win for both teams.

5. Tavon and Only VS It Ertz When I Pee
Tavon's team is under performing but their talent is still strong. The stinging sensation Ertz feels when they pee is only match-up by the pain of their mediocre start. Both teams will be using this game as a springboard to start a winning streak.
