Match-Up Build-Up week 13

1. Chicken Noodle Coop (6-6) vs The Real McCoy (7-5)
Coop is still looking for their first regular win against their rival since joining the MFFL in 2020. This week would be the perfect week to do it. Coop is looking to rebound after a loss to TPD a week ago. It has been an up and down season for CNC, as they have scored under 120 points in five of their last seven games. They are middle of the pack in terms of points scored and points against. Coop shares a (6-6) record with four other teams. With only three games left in the regular season, it is officially go time for everyone in the mix. CNC needs to win this game.
McCoy secured their second straight victory a week ago, a feat that had not accomplished since weeks one and two. They did just enough to beat TDs, again benefiting from a poor opponent performance. They've won seven games to this point, and in each victory, no team has scored more than 116 points against them. Opponents are averaging 102 points in their victories, and 144 points in their defeats. Their depth and solid team performances continue to help each week, but their lack of firepower could be a concern down the stretch, as the previous statistics indicate. A win this week would go a long way to securing a playoff spot, as well as yet another West Division title. This team flat out knows how to ball. They are second to only TPD in terms of historical dominance and success. They are one of the best to ever lace em up.

2. Baker's Chubbin' (6-6) vs La Flama Blanca (5-6-1)
Baker secured a critical victory a week ago to remain in the hunt for a coveted playoff spot. It is somewhat of a miracle they are even in this position, as they have the 2nd fewest points scored in the league. Having the league's easiest schedule will do that. Moore is on bye this week, while Deebo is hurt, so their WRs will be a patch work job this week. If they can just survive, they have the right pieces to possibly get hot at the right time. But it has to happen, and so far this season it has not.
LFB won last week while only scoring 111 points. It has been a wildly inconsistent season, but entering the season's final three contests they stand 7th in the standings and 3rd in points scored. Considering the log jam of teams fighting for a playoff spot, they are still in a fighters position to claim one of them. What they'll do if there is anyones guess. This team can beat anyone, and lose to anyone.

3. The Perpetual Dynasty (9-3) vs Imposing Monstrosity (5-7)
TPD scored the most points in the league last week for the sixth time this season. They are one win away from securing their 6th division title, and their 8th playoff appearance in 10 seasons. In all likelihood, both of those things are already secured, but one victory out of their last three makes it official. They've scored 168 more points than the team 2nd in points scored, still navigating the league's toughest schedule. They are likely to break both the points scored and points against record in the same season. It's been a special year, one of the best ever, which is saying a lot considering TPD's previous accomplishments. Don't forget about the trend of dominate regular season teams struggling in the playoffs though. It happens pretty much every year, and during the league's first 3 seasons, it happened to TPD exclusively.
Stros is hanging on for dear life. It took a 48 point performance out of Forunette last week, just for them to win by 3 points. They won last week, but remain behind the eight ball. TPD will be without both Adams and Cook this week, so there is an opportunity for Stros to strike. They historically play well against TPD too. Stros' playoff hopes will probably be dashed if they lose this week.

4. El Pollo Loco (6-6) vs The Glorious Morgans (5-7)
It is make or break for both teams. Loco lost CMC for the year, which is a major blow. The Morgans are averaging 84 ppg in their last four games. These teams will fight to the end, hoping to find free agent gems along the way.

Match-Up Build-Up Week 12

THE GAME week so mubu will be short. The MFFL remains the most congested it has ever been for everyone except TPD. With four weeks remaining in the season it is make or break time for everyone. Four teams currently sit at (6-5), while two others are (5-6). The loser of Baker vs Morgans may be out, as the defeated would then be (5-7). Loco and McCoy are playing teams 9 and 10, so both need a win in order to keep pace. A loss for either one of them would be damaging. TPD and Coop is the best match-up of the week. Coop needs the win more than TPD, but it is important for TPD as well. TPD has been playing at an elite level all season, and a win this week may be enough to secure a playoff spot, even if not official. Thanksgiving MFFL feasts. It is the best time of the year, and now is when everything heats up. Ummm, delicious.

Match-Up Build-Up Week 11

1. Baker's Chubbin' (5-5) vs The Real McCoy (5-5)
Baker needs a quick turn around after scoring below 100 points last week. They have now scored below 104 points in three out of their last four games. Luckily for them, their (5-5) record is second best in the league. Unfortunately for them, six teams currently have a (5-5) record. We've seen unprecedented parity in the MFFL this season, for everyone except TPD. So even though Baker has scored the fewest points in the league, they are currently in fourth place. Helping them down the stretch will be their (4-2) divisional record. But they have to start playing better.
McCoy has lost back to back games for the first time this season. It was a tough luck situation, as they scored the third highest point total in the league but still lost. Their once laughably easy schedule has really tightened up over the last four games, and unfortunately they have gone (1-3) during that rough stretch. They've scored the 2nd most points in the league, and still remain 2nd in the overall standings, but they'll have to get back to winning games in order to keep up. Their (1-4) divisional record could really hold them back, in a year where tie breakers are bound to play a factor, but their high point total is a huge positive conversely. This is a crucial match-up for both teams.

2. The Perpetual Dynasty (7-3) vs ShowMeYourTDs (4-5-1)
TPD's dominate play has continued. They've won five out of six, with their lone defeat being a 1 point loss. If TPD's pace continues, they may go down as having the best draft in MFFL history. Cook, Taylor, Allen, Kupp, and Pitts were all TPD picks, and they have all played well this season. The only thing stopping them right now is historical data. Dominate regular season teams have always seemingly struggled in the playoffs. TPD hopes to keep winning, in order to secure a playoff spot early, allowing them to mold as good a playoff roster as they can. TPD has revenge on the mind, playing TDs this week. TDs scored a week 1 record 182 points against them to start this season.
TDs is bound to bounce back after a horrible performance a week ago, but they have to get healthy. If Kamara and Hopkins return, this team looks ready for a good stretch run. If not, then they may struggle against the top team in the league. Sitting in 9th at this stage of the season is never good, but TDs is in luck, due to how crazy close the MFFL is this year. All is not lost. Sweeping TPD on the season would go a long way to securing a playoff spot. TDs is very thankful that Kupp is on bye this week for TPD.

3. El Pollo Loco (5-5) vs La Flama Blanca (4-5-1)
Loco swept McCoy this year, something they never do. They hope to carry the momentum into a late season surge. They're 4th in points and 3rd in the standings. Their resurgence in play happened in the same week Mahomes and McCaffrey balled out again. Shocking. This team goes as they go. If those two can be the players we're use to seeing, then look out.
LFB could not win a critical game against TPD last week. They have been boom or bust all season, and last week was a bust week. Losing Henry has been a real blow to the weekly floor. Still, few teams want to match-up against this squad down the stretch. They are third in points and remain thickly in the hunt.

4. Chicken Noodle Coop (5-5) vs The Glorious Morgans (5-5)
Coop has now lost back to back games, and four out of their last six. They've scored over 105 just once in their last five games. The season is slipping away, but they remain 2nd in the East and 5th overall, so they need to keep fighting. They may not have the firepower of some teams, but full team efforts can still be a winning strategy down the stretch. Look for them to fight all the way to the end. This is a massive game for them and The Morgans.
The Morgans won a crucial game last week, but only scored 111 in doing so. They are hanging on for dear life, and this week is once again critical. They've scored over 116 just once in their last five games. Hats off to their fight, but one has to wonder if they will run out of gas at some point. Once again, this is a huge game.

5. Imposing Monstrosity (4-6) vs Unstopa-Bo (5-5)
Both of these teams are fighting their asses off. They are staying alive in the playoff hunt, but that can largely be traced back to the crazy parity across the MFFL this year. Neither team cares, and will take whatever they can get. This may be the first playoff eliminator game of the season. So the stakes are high. Every game this week is important, and this one may end up being the most important of all.

Match-Up Build-Up Week 10

We are past the half way point of the MFFL season, meaning this week is the trade deadline. MFFL teams are now settling in for the long haul. It has been a crazy season to date, and playoff positions remains up for grabs for everyone.

1. The Perpetual Dynasty (6-3) vs La Flama Blanca (4-4-1)
TPD bounced back last week, scoring the most points of the week for the fourth time this season. They stand alone at the top of the MFFL standings. The Adams trade has yet to pay off, but good days are likely ahead once he and Rodgers are past covid circumstances. The lineup continues to be lethal, though they are hoping to get more production out of players like Cook and Williams. They have the most points in the league, but have still scored less points than opponents have scored against them. They now have the league's toughest schedule by a ridiculous 123 points. For context, the team with the second toughest schedule is in last place. It speaks to how good TPD has been this season.
LFB secured a crucial victory a week ago. They are now fifth in the standings, and second in points scored. This week's match-up against TPD will feature the two highest scoring teams in the league. It is also their first match-up out of two on the season. Just as Henry went down with injury, Conner stepped up his game. Look for James to be immediately inserted into their starting lineup. Expect fireworks folks. The firepower on both teams is potent.

2. El Pollo Loco (4-5) vs The Real McCoy (5-4)
Loco's slump has continued. They haven't scored over 120 points in four straight games. Their play has mirrored that of the Chiefs. Teams are playing a cover 2 shell against Loco, forcing them to run the ball and complete short passes. Getting CMC back is a huge boost, and if Mahomes starts to play better, they will be just fine. Their WRs are playing well too. This is a huge game for them, as they have to keep pace with the rest of the division. Expect them to get out of their slump soon, potentially this week.
McCoy lost last week and has scored fewer points than the week previous in four straight games. They have been alternating wins and losses all season. It is a very balanced team, but one that lacks firepower due to what has happened to Hill and the Chiefs offense this season. They can explode at any moment, and they have always bounced back after a loss this season. They have a poor (1-3) divisional record, but remain 2nd in the overall standings. They will be hoping to stack some victories against the West down the stretch.

3. ShowMeYourTDs (4-4-1) vs The Glorious Morgans (4-5)
TDs eked out a win last week, and they have now either won or tied in four of their last five games. Their once difficult schedule has slowed considerably, which has allowed them to get back into the swing of things. They need to start playing better ball though if they are to make a run at the playoffs. This team is getting healthy at the right time. Look for them to be one of the tougher teams to beat down the stretch.
The Morgans had a nightmare game last week, only scoring 53 points. They must simply forget it and move on. They had won four out of five before last week. They have scored the fewest points in the league, but have a strong divisional record. All is not lost, but they are behind the eight ball, especially if they lose this week. This is a huge game for both teams.

Bullet points:
-Baker has won two straight and has climbed back into the race. Their (4-1) divisional record is a huge advantage down the stretch. Their still 3rd to last in points scored though, so they've been fortunate to this point. They won last week only scoring 104.
-Coop has had tough luck injuries each of the last two weeks, but they're still in a great spot, being 3rd in the overall standings. Points have been tough to come by over the last month, but expect them to start playing better soon.
-UB won last week, but they remain firmly behind the eight ball. They've made for one hell of a good spoiler this year though.
-Stros is now (3-6). If they are going to turn it around, it has to start this week. A tough schedule has hurt them this season. They are likely to play spoiler at the very least down the stretch, as the lineup still has talent.

Match-Up Build-Up Week 9

1. The Perpetual Dynasty (5-3) vs El Pollo Loco (4-4)
TPD lost a heart-breaker last week. A poor gameday decision in their flex cost them the victory, as well as Adams being out due to Covid. They are still in first, with the most points scored, but last week was another example of how tough it is going to be for them to win games if they are not playing at their best. They have the league's toughest schedule by a wide 110 point margin. They will try to bounce back this week.
Loco has lost two straight and they are struggling to score points. The continued absence of CMC is brutal, and Mahomes has been struggling each of the last two weeks. They now embark on the toughest stretch of their schedule. They need to rally the troops. Luckily for them they are playing TPD, which while difficult in terms of opponent, they can at least know their team is bound to play better.

2. La Flama Blanca (3-4-1) vs The Glorious Morgans (4-4)
LFB must face the rest of the season without Derrick Henry. It is a brutal blow for a team that has had one of the worst benches all season. They spent almost all of their waiver cash looking for replacements. LFB will try to keep it together. They are coming off of a tie, which is always bitter sweet. This is a big game for them in the East.
The Morgans beat TPD last week, which is huge, but they continue to struggle to score points. Their win came largely because of players they acquired from TPD in the Adams trade, quelling any remaining thoughts they he made the wrong decision. Clearly they didn't. Not having to play against Adams last week won them the match-up. They've turned it around after a slow start, something they have done many times. They are right back in the thick of things, but work remains.

3. Chicken Noodle Coop (5-3) vs ShowMeYourTDs (3-4-1)
Coop had the only match-up last week that wasn't close. It was a rare low stress game for them this season. They've won two straight, and last week the team started to play better. This team is getting healthy, and is battling TPD for the top spot in the East.
TDs has had a tough luck year. They are 4th in points scored, but 8th in the standings. This team is far better than their record, with depth to boot. Expect them to make a late season push.

Both Stros and Baker need a win this week. McCoy is a big favorite over UB.
