Match-Up Build-Up Week 4

Only one team remains unbeaten in the MFFL. Many of the rest remain squarely in the hunt as its one of the most competitive starts to a season in league history. The field is wide open and the match-ups are ever important.

1. The Perpetual Dynasty (2-1) vs El Pollo Loco (3-0)
Overview: The clear top match-up of the week showcases two former rivals. Loco has burst onto the scene while TPD is trying to maintain their position at the top. This is a huge early season match-up.
Team Notes: TPD bounced back last week in a big way. They currently sit 4th in points and have benefited slightly from an easy early season schedule. In preparation for their mega match-up against the the team with the best start in MFFL history, TPD made splash moves acquiring huge names who have so far underperformed. TPD is hoping their performances improve towards their typical norm. The lineup looks strong, with TPD having their typical stud WRs and better RBs than usual. Last season they struggled to find consistent play at QB and TE, but this year they hope Waller and Watson, who have been studs so far this season, can hold down those spots all year. Expect more trades of course, but as the team stands now, it is an intimidating bunch.
Loco is shattering records to start this season. No team previously had ever had three straight 160+ point games to start the season. There are simply no words to put such a feat into perspective. Their starting lineup has no weaknesses and they have hit on all of their trades to start this season. A major reversal of performance or fortune would have to take place in order for this team not to compete for the Western division crown. Their one possible weakness could be their suspect bench, and now that bye weeks have begun, Loco can ill afford an injury. Obviously they will not maintain this pace but even losing 25% percent of their production would have them scoring 120 points a game. What a start.
Game Notes: The match-ups look very similar for both teams. Based on their match-ups this week it does not look like Loco will slow down anytime soon. The firepower on both sides of the field for this match-up is electrifying. This match-up is reminiscent of an MMA bout. The 3peat defending champion is matched up against the young fiery challenger. Expect fireworks come Sunday. The loser would only be able to extract revenge if a playoff match-up were to unfold at the end of the season. What drama.

2. The Real McCoy (2-1) vs Unstopa-Bo (2-1)
Two classic western division foes face off in a crucial week 4 match-up.
McCoy has started the season out well but ran into a buzzsaw last week when Stros scored 181 against them. There is simply nothing to do when that happens. They will likely move past the loss quickly and focus on maintaining their dominance over the Western division. They are scrambling to find suitable players for their bench, but it remains a struggle. They have survived this season through high touchdown totals across their starting lineup, but they know they will have to get better in order to reach the high standards they have previously set. Losing Bell due to bye and Hilton possibly to injury are huge blows to this top heavy team.
UB's trade for Breida bit them in the butt last week. They also had two huge performances from RBs on their bench. The key to success for this team will be gameday managing, as their depth at WR is a strength, but figuring out which WRs and RBs to start each week will be difficult. A lack of firepower remains this team's weakness.
While not a must win for either team, this game has huge importance, as the future outlook for both teams is hazy. UB is catching McCoy at a good time, but the match-up remains a complete toss up. Hopefully both teams will gain some answers after this bloodbath in week 4.

3. La Flama Blanca (2-1) vs GrabbingThemTDs (2-1)
LFB exploded last week to the tune of 180 points. The performances of Jackson and Allen to start the season continue to be the difference makers. All they needed was a few people to step up in support of their terrific RB core, and the guys have responded in spades. After years of missing out on the success of old, it's probably safe to say LFB is back.
TDs is one of the worst (2-1) teams in MFFL history. They have scored the least amount of points in the league. Not wanting to waste the good fortune gifted to them, they made a big trade acquiring huge pieces at WR that should help the overall product as they move forward. The performances of Conner and Mayfield have been nothing short of dreadful, and a huge hinderance to their long term success. They will continue to make moves to improve upon their flaws, something TDs typically does not do. Knowing that this team could possibly be (3-1) following this week is truly remarkable.
The edge on paper for this match-up is leaning heavily towards LFB though.

4. The Glorious Morgans (0-3) vs Tavon and Only (1-2)
This is a must win game for both teams. Tavon needed only 7 points from Cohen on Monday night to secure the victory but he could not come through. Tavon has struggled to get strong performances from their RBs in the early going, and as mentioned before, the confusing decision to start both Thielen and Diggs each week is truly troubling.
The Morgans have to be feeling shocked at the moment. An (0-3) start is so unfathomable for this franchise. They are attempting to pick up the pieces, and three years ago, when they started (1-5-1), they rallied off six straight wins to make the playoffs. Can history repeat itself? Not likely if they lose this week.

5. Baker's Chubbin' (0-3) vs Imposing Monstrosity (1-2)
Stros battled off the sharks last week by scoring 181 points in their dismantling of McCoy. Mike Evans finally came to play in a big way. This team has sneaky good upside the rest of the way, as Hill is getting healthier and Mixon could explode late. It was a massive win for this franchise.
How is it that Baker loses their star 1st round pick to injury every year? This team cannot catch a single break ever and they look like they will struggle yet again this season. They are truly devastating circumstances year in and year out for this franchise.

Match-Up Build-Up Week 3

The west division currently holds 3 unbeatens while the East is knee deep in a bloodbath. Week 3 allows for early separation and position jockeying. After a week that saw major injuries to many MFFL teams, so much is left to be decided and revealed.

1. El Pollo Loco (2-0) vs Unstopa-Bo (2-0)
Overview: The unquestioned top game of the week matches iron with iron, as an old fashioned western division battle sets the stage.
Team Notes: El Pollo Loco has been the most dominate team to start this season, averaging 163 points per week over the first two. It is an unbelievable start, orchestrated by their star selection Patrick Mahomes. Much of the lineup is set for the long haul, with firepower across each position. A potential weak spot is the depth and lack of true #1 at WR. Boyd and Godwin have played great but Loco is worried about their ceilings moving forward, though their floors are still great. This franchise has been in the top tier over the last two seasons, and this season's start cements their quality even further. They have never won the West, but a win here puts them at (3-0) and in poll position to do just that.
UB is (2-0) as well but sits at 5th in total points. They have benefited from a soft early season schedule. Now their top target is under question as Thomas has to play two months without HOF QB Brees. It is a damaging blow to a team already struggling for firepower. Still, the depth of this squad is a real strength, especially at WR. UB looks on track to have their best season since back to back championship appearances in 2015 and 2016.
Game Notes: UB is road heavy and has multiple players in the later time slots.
Match-up breakdown:
Loco- (++++,---,=) Up and down, so good some bad.
UB- (------,==) Good luck finding one good match-up this week. Brutal.
Key Battle: Engram vs Kelce
Loco has a significant edge in match-ups and overall firepower. They enter this game as the favorite. Regardless of result both teams look like contenders in 2019 and each are ready to put on a show. Sit back and enjoy!

2. GrabbingThemTDs (1-1) vs Tavon and Only (1-1)
Overview: Two teams fighting for east division position square off in a must win for both sides.
Team Notes: TDs won last week but only scored 101 points. They benefited from a rare down week from TPD. It was a crucial win regardless, and they hope the squad can start playing with more explosiveness. They have been hesitant to make moves so far this season, showing great faith in the drafted capital. Unfortunately some of their studs have murky futures. Conner is hurt and no longer has Ben, while Baker has looked lost in two starts this season. Their faith is well placed but they may perhaps need to shake things up a bit more than anticipated to start this season. This is another key game in the ever competitive east division.
Tavon also got in the win column last week, surviving having to play Dalvin and Lamar who both had huge weeks for their opponent. Luckily for Tavon the rest of LFB's squad did not perform. Tavon is still rolling with two Viking WRs in their lineup and question marks loom for their RBs and now TE, who was injured on Monday night. This team's future is still extremely hard to predict. They need to keep winning early, especially if some of the red flags prove to be valid.
Game Notes: Both teams are heavy late.
Match-up breakdown:
TDs- (+,----,===) The match-ups look unfavorable for TDs
Tav- ( +++++,--,=) Much better match-ups than TDs
Key Battle: There are so many spots to split hairs at, but Adams vs Julio could decide it.
Both teams have something to prove, a win would go a long way. Hugely important battle here.

3. The Perpetual Dynasty (1-1) vs Baker's Chubbin (0-2)
TPD has come out of the gates slow to start 2019. Outside of a few blow ups in week 1, the lineup simply isn't producing. They continue to make moves in an effort to improve upon poor play but so far it has yet to show earth shattering results. The season is young, and TPD is no stranger to slow beginnings. Expect a classic TPD surge to begin some time soon.
Chubbin could not have started the season off any worse. After a bad 2018, they've scored the 2nd fewest points and hold the leagues toughest schedule early on in 2019. So much of the same for this franchise unfortunately. Still, talent remains on this roster. They have to win this game, as an (0-3) start would be devastating. They have the talent to do so, and may be catching TPD before their typical peak.

4. La Flama Blanca (1-1) vs The Glorious Morgans (0-2)
LFB looked destined to score loads of points last week after Lamar and Dalvin blew up in the 1:00pm games, but their squad did not deliver the rest of the way in a losing effort. The lineup is still strong however, and right now they look like the best team in the east division to start this season.
The Morgans (0-2) start is a stark contrast to the dominance they have displayed each of the last 3 seasons. The troubling beginning will not sit will with this franchise and expect them to do whatever it takes moving forward to find more success. They have a deep bench which will help them for the long haul. It would be best for this proud franchise to remain patient and trust their players to play better soon. The loss of Brees and DJ, for a time, last week torpedoed any chance at victory.

5. The Real McCoy (2-) vs Imposing Monstrosity (0-2)
McCoy seemingly never gets anyone's best shot. It happened again last week and has been a theme for this franchise throughout the league's history. Dak remains the pickup of the year so far this season and talent across the board makes this team a contender again. The question remains will this team ever face somebody at their best. If not, this team will roll once more.
Stros' injury situation continues to pile up and the start to this season has been an unmitigated disaster. If McCaffrey and Evans play the way they did in week 2 this team is doomed. Improved play should be expect, though perhaps not this week as they play McCoy.

Match-Up Build-Up Week 2

Week 2 is here. Rivalry match-ups of week 1 were explosive and entertaining, but now that points and records are being displayed the focus turns to each team's positioning and fight within the rankings hierarchy. Starting (0-1) is never fun but hardly damaging. A consecutive loss in week 2 is what brings about questions and concerns. Pages are still being written during week 2 of the MFFL season. Let's get it on!

1. The Glorious Morgans (0-1) vs The Real McCoy (1-0)
Overview: Two blue bloods of the MFFL world match-up in a huge early season game. Over the last three seasons this match-up has consistently been one of the most anticipated, with playoff seeding and bragging rights typically baked in. An anxious dish is at hand for each team.
Team Notes: The Morgans lost last week but they scored the 3rd most points of the week. It is an incredibly frustrating situation, though a circumstance the Morgans have rarely had to stomach over the last two years. They've only lost six times in the regular season over the last two seasons, 33% of which coming when they scored under 100 points. They lost in week 1 last season before going on a massive winning streak, so nothing is even close to being lost. They made a major trade this week acquiring crazy WR depth and a play making RB Josh Jacobs. This team does not stay idle, and a loss in week 1 is something they will not take lightly. A loss in week 2 would cause perhaps even more shake up.
McCoy won last week while scoring the lowest point total of any winning team. It is somewhat of a theme for this franchise, but their victory was made possible due to some savvy gameday managing at QB. They benched their stud ARod, who had a bad match-up on Thursday night, and used their recently acquired waive pickup Dak Prescott instead. It paid off, as Dak lit it up and Rodgers underperformed. This franchise is perhaps the best at leaving emotion out of gameday decision making, which has allowed them to not overthink possible decisions and to gain major success. They too have rarely lost a game over the last two seasons, like the Morgans. Still, sometimes heart has too supercede practicality, as their decision to start Dallas Defense over the incumbent starter Minnesota almost lost them the game. The out of character moves may be a sign of their attempt at adaptation after recent playoff disappointment. A scary thought no doubt to the rest of the league.
Game Notes: The Morgans now have unbelievable depth to go along with Johnson and Smith-Schuster. McCoy is as balanced as ever, but were buoyed last week by TDs from guys like Hilton and Bell, a week of quantity play rather than elite quality. The Morgans will need a lead as McCoy has Beckham and Bell going on Monday night. Both teams are road heavy.
Match-Up Breakdown:
TGM: (++,--,====) Not too much here to exploit.
TRM: (++,-,=====) Average almost across the board.
Key Battle: Johnson vs Bell, both would be RB1's struggled at times in week 1 but quantity led the day. Bell is getting an MRI but little is none about his injury status.
This is gonna be fun folks. It is the clear top match-up of the week. Few match-ups every year have this much yearning for a victory from both sides of the field.

2. The Perpetual Dynasty (1-0) vs GrabbingThemTDs (0-1)
Overview: Historically a lopsided affair, the #2 match-up of the week pits two east foes against one another.
Team Notes: TPD had a massive Monday night comeback securing a victory in week 1. Much of their production came from only four players. TPD is not one to give second chances willingly, so they shipped off 5 players in one trade and acquired more firepower at the top in Cooper and Green once healthy. The starting lineup will have a few remainders from week 1 but it is mostly changes across the board when looking ahead to week 2. They will continue to make moves in their style, seemingly never satisfied.
TDs is extremely disappointed by their week 1 performance. They are hoping for major bounce back weeks from multiple big named players. Having Watkins on the bench last week was a devastating blow. A win over TPD in week 2 would immediately turn their emotions around as they try for their best season since 2012.
Game Notes: TPD will be looking for a more balance effort while TDs wants more firepower at the top leading the way. TPD is 1:00pm heavy while TDs has multiple players going on the road.
Match-Up Breakdown:
TPD: (++,--,====) Nothing crazy exploitable or worrisome.
TDs: (++++,---,=) Good and bad up and down.
Key Battle: Hopkins vs Adams which stud WR can overcome their tough match-up.

3. La Flama Blanca (1-0) vs Tavon and Only (0-1)
Team Notes: LFB came out like gangbusters in week 1 scoring 175 points, the highest of the week. Talk about statements in a make or break year for this franchise. The combination of Jackson, Kamara, and Cook is a sight to behold. If Allen and Jeffery can hold up their end of the bargain there will be no stopping this squad week to week.
Tavon predictably lost to McCoy in week 1 but put up a decent effort. So far the risks taken in the draft are not paying off, as Gurley and Gordon could be major problems all year. Having both Thielen and Diggs in their starting lineup each week is extremely puzzling, considering it is a run first offense. The bench has its question marks as well. This team needs a major turn around fast or they will be left behind early this season.
Game Notes: Both teams are road heavy. Tavon has some late performers.

4. El Pollo Loco (1-0) vs Baker's Chubbin' (0-1)
Team Notes: Loco put down one of the more impressive performances of the week. They scored 160 points with every single starter scoring over 10 points. The best part of each performance is the strong chance of repeating. Many young players stepped up and the season is looking bright for this team. They need to improve the bench but the starting lineup is as good as any right now, even without the presence of a bonafide WR1.
Much like the Browns in week 1 BC looked completely disorganized. How on earth do you start any defense against the Chiefs? The starting RBs will carry them, but injuries to their bench and the lack of firepower across the board may hurt this team in the early going. They head into week 2 as underdogs, a role they have used to their advantage against Loco many times before.

5. Unstopa-Bo (1-0) vs Imposing Monstrosity (0-1)
Team Notes: UB laid the wood on TDs last week, but looking at their point production more acutely reveals much of their production came from only two players. The starting RBs still have their question marks and outside of Thomas and Kelce it is tough to predict who they can rely on week to week. A win against a reeling Stros squad would give them some breathing room as they try to improve.
Stros is stricken with injuries. Hill and Mixon may both be out this week and now Henry is set to miss two months. They will have to manage their asses off to stay afloat while they get healthy. It is a worst possible scenario for a team that traded away much of their depth to acquire the services of Hill. A win here would steady the ship for at least this week.

Match-Up Build-Up Week 1 2019

The time has come! MFFL football is back and ready to rock. Such a thought produces chills and heart pounding anticipation, surging like a wave of crashing tides. Look to the skies, smell the air, and listen to the sounds gentlemen, the MFFL season is calling, answer its call.

This season's week 1 match-ups are unlike any other. For the first time in MFFL history the commissioner is starting the season with a rivalry week. It's an unbelievable display of ingenuity and hype. The league waits, coiled like a spring, ready to strike the first deafening tone of the season against their most bitter of foes.

1. The Perpetual Dynasty (0-0) vs Imposing Monstrosity (0-0)
Overview: The season's first top match-up begins with a back and forth rivalry. Stros took the first two games of this rivalry in 2017, but TPD snapped back with a sweep of their own last season. Arguably this season's best draft is paired against the crazy antics of a 3peat champion, fireworks are expected.
Team Notes: TPD is your 3peat champion. Such a feat has yet to be fully understood due to its unique nature. Carried by a harden resolve and an unrelenting style of managerial creativity and skill, TPD has captured glory three straight seasons even though they have had to grind and fight through each regular season. Always pushing their limits further, TPD looks to get back to their dominate regular season ways this season. In pursuit of their goal, they have already made an astoundingly large amount of moves, six trades to be exact, reshaping much of their team merely a few days after the draft. It is par for the course for this manager, and a sign to the rest of the league that their hunger remains, and to take down the top dog will mean enduring their ferocious bite. For the first time since 2012, TPD has RBs that actually deserve to be in a starting lineup come week 1. They hope their young stable of backs can be the catalyst for a more balanced beginning. TE was a problem for them all of last season, so they took no chances this year and invested draft stock into O.J Howard, whom they hope and expect to have a breakout season. Stars at the top with Deshaun Watson and DeAndre Hopkins make the lineup as exciting as ever, but the real strength of this team may be their depth at WR. All TPD needs is one breakout season from any of them and their fortunes would look bright once again.
Impsoing Monstrosity is finally feeling more comfortable performing in the wild wild west nature of the MFFL. Last season was nothing they wanted. They won only two games in what amounted to a lost season for the youngest MFFL franchise. They rallied the troops this summer and set their targets on major improvements for 2019. The draft played right into their hands for such success, as many big named players seemingly dropped into their lap at multiple points during the draft. They then rocked the minds of the MFFL world, acquiring Tyreek Hill from TPD in exchange for much of their young starting lineup and depth. Simply put, they aren't messing around this year. Their starting lineup may be the most imposing the MFFL has to offer to start the season. They look to garner wins early as any attack on their health could spell big trouble due to their current lack of depth.
Game Notes: This match-up is explosive on so many levels, but don't expect any answer early on as both teams are back loaded towards 4:00pm games, and TPD has serious firepower slated for Monday night, with three counted on starters taking center stage then. Home road splits seem to be about even.
Match-Up Breakdown:
TPD- (++++,---,=) Average, TPD's toughest match-up at least feature games in which his players will have to score points in order to keep up with potent offenses.
Stros- (+++,---,==) Average, His RBs and Hill have tough match-ups on paper, the rest oft he lineup can exploit poor defenses potentially.
Key Battle: TE and Defense- there are advantages and disadvantages across the whole lineup, but these two spots look to be the most even, with each having exploitable match-ups.

Stros wants to turn the page on last season and a win against the 3peat champion would be the best way any team can start the season. TPD's team will not remain the same in the least throughout the early portion of the season, as they keep each player on high alert, moving on from players quickly and confidently if they have too. This is a big rivalry week game with much on the line. The competitive nature of the MFFL does not allow for even the slightest of missteps. Get your freakin popcorn ready.

2. GrabbingThemTDs (0-0) vs Unstopa-Bo (0-0)
Overview: The rivalry with the most smack talk in the league checks in at #2. An unbelievably close match-up year in and year out, these two want nothing more than to blast the other and claim bragging rights.
Team Notes: GrabbingThemTDs brings a new name and new style to the 2019 season. This is perhaps the most prepared they have ever been for an MFFL draft. After the draft they partook in a trade, something they rarely do before the season starts. The shocking selection of Baker Mayfield sent shockwaves throughout the entire draft room, but TDs has not relented and will entrust Baker to lead their franchise this season. They have talent at every position across the field and solid depth ont he bench. TDs has never been able to replicate their playoff appearance way back in year one, but this season brings about a new drive and determination. They look like real contenders for the 2019 season.
Unstopa-Bo has been somewhat of an enigma throughout their MFFL career. Their greatest achievements coming in 2015 and 2016, when they made the championship game both years but failed to win either time. The last two seasons have shown a serious fall from grace, as they have had a (5-9) record consecutively. It is feast or famine for this franchise, but one thing that is always a constant is their desire to stick it to TDs. It's their favorite thing to do every season, and last season they got the sweep on TDs. This season presents some normal themes. They had a strong draft, like they always do, and look ready to begin the season strong. A potential problem for them is their lack of overall firepower and serious question marks at RB. They will begin the season with Damien Williams and Derrick Henry as their #1 and #2 RBs. The only other RBs on the roster are Philip Lindsay and LeSean McCoy. In the past they have relied on strong drafts to carry them throughout the season, but this year they will have to pounce on trades and waiver wire moves in order to solidify their depth. In that vein, they have already made one trade before the season started, something they perhaps have never done before. Similar to TDs this squad may be adopting a new strategy this season after back to back disappointing years. A UB more ready to make creative moves should be a scary thought to the rest of the league.
Game Notes: Both teams are 1:00pm heavy. It will be a back and forth affair come Sunday. Both teams are road heavy.
Match-Up Breakdown:
TDs- (++++,--,==) Good match-ups overall but some sneaky troubling ones.
UB- (+,---,====) Poor/Brutal, generally tough across the board.
Key Battle: #2WR and Flex
Based on UBs poor circumstance at RB and their generally poor match-ups, the early favorite may be TDs. But throw records and match-ups out the window when these two meet. It is an old fashion blood bath. Bragging rights and a double meat Chipotle bowls await the winner of this match-up.

3. El Pollo Loco (0-0) vs The Glorious Morgans (0-0)
Overview: Two of the most dedicated teams draw swords in this explosive match-up in week one.
Team Notes: El Pollo Loco has turned a corner after an average start to their MFFL career. After leading the league in points in 2017, they followed it up with an (8-6) season a year ago, barely missing out on the playoffs by a single game. Whatever mistakes they perhaps made as a young and up and coming franchise they have learned from and are squarely in the mix heading into this season. They need Elliott to sign an extension, without him their chances of victory in early match-ups takes a steep fall. The rest of the lineup is littered with young and up and coming talent. If guys like Carson, Boyd, Godwin, and JonesII, explode onto the scene, then this team is going to be tough to beat, as their stars Mahomes, Zeke, and Engram should hold down the fort at their respective positions. Loco hopes to continue their steady climb up the MFFL ranks.
The Glorious Morgans have cemented themselves as a top 3 franchise in this league. They have accomplished this by having two of the best regular season's ever in back to back years. Their teams have set and broken regular season records each of the last two seasons. Unfortunately the playoffs have not gone the way they wanted in any of the last three seasons, mirroring old TPD teams. Ironic being that their playoff foe they've struggled against is TPD. The lineup looks as good as ever to start 2019, with some of the best depth of any roster. They will be relying on JuJu and DJ all season, with hopes of Brees maintaining his HOF form at the age of 40. Everything has broken right for this franchise each of the last two seasons, as they have perhaps borrowed some of McCoy's midas touch qualities. Looking at the shape of things for 2019, do not expect a drop off.
Game Notes: Loco will need a large lead after their bulk 4:00pm games, as TGM are extremely back loaded. Morgans have the majority of their guys playing home games.
Match-Up Breakdown:
Loco: (++++,--,==) Good match-ups across the board.
TGM: (+++,--,===) Solid match-ups but probably not as strong as Loco's.
Key Battle: TE and #2 RB, both teams have questions at #2 RB if Zeke is out, but their TE battle should be explosive.
Loco needs Elliott to play, but those chances seem weak at best. Without him the Morgans would be a favorite, a position many teams in the MFFL have failed to follow through on each season. Both of these teams will look different as the season progresses, each make multiple moves throughout.

4. The Real McCoy (0-0) vs Tavon and Only (0-0)
Overview: The most lopsided rivalry in the league slots in an #4 for week 1.
Team Notes: McCoy has absolutely dominated this rivalry, there is no way around it. They have used Tavon as a platform in which to pad their dominating stats. The firepower displayed by this team each season is perhaps unmatched by anyone other than TPD. It hasn't hurt that they have had the easiest path to success year in and year out, playing in the West division that had three teams fail to capture more than 5 wins last season. Their all time easiest schedule amounts to nearly 400 less scored points against them than the team with the 2nd easiest schedule, which is staggering. What is impressive about this franchise is that they have taken the good luck and fortune given to them and done what one is suppose to do, dominate every week. A similar comparison may be the Patriots of the AFC East. TPD bested them in three straight playoff's, two of which were in the championship. McCoy's regular season success speaks for itself, but they will try to start winning championships again starting this season. During this year's draft they routinely displayed frustration with the nature of how the draft was going for them, but as they always seem to do, they found a way to have good circumstance bounce their way in the shape of Bell falling to them unexpectedly and by drafting Pollard in the late rounds, who looks poised to help them in big ways early in the season. Classic McCoy. The bench leaves some to be desired but the starting lineup is packed full of guys who look ready to play their asses off for this franchise. McCoy always gets the most out of their guys.
Tavon and Only is not messing around this year. Red flags be damned, this team took as many star players as they could in the draft, even some with big question marks entering the season. Gurley and Gordon are positioned as two league winning RBs but also could season killers. No team has a bigger range of potential outcomes than this one. If it works look out, but a lot has to go right for this team and franchise. They are trying to get back to their championship level form of 2015, but that season has looked more like an anomaly in the grand scheme. Beating a team that has routinely held them down would be one hell of a way to turn a new corner.
Game Notes: This game will likely be decided during the Sunday Night Game. Both teams have a lot of home games.
Match-Up Breakdown:
TRM- (++,---,===) Average across the board with a few good and some bad.
TAO- (++,--,====) Average, very similar to McCoy
Key Battle: DEF, both have tough match-ups for their defenses this week

Both teams have big names, some of which perhaps past their prime, but if either can squeeze out one more HOF quality season out of the majority of them then watch out. Pollard entering McCoy's lineup last minute could be the difference maker.

5. La Flama Blanca (0-0) vs Baker's Chubbin (0-0)
Overview: Two teams with a fierce rivalry will clash come Sunday. Both franchises are still looking to make their mark in the MFFL.
Team Notes: LFB is long past their glory days of old. They have struggled to keep pace in the ultra competitive East division each season. Another team that relies heavily on a good draft, they have failed to make the necessary team improvements during the season the last few years. They also go after big names, which has been hit or miss as of late. Their strategy this season for the draft was to get as many good RBs as they could, and they did, stockpiling talent at that position. This meant though that they could not grab the firepower at other positions, and WR, QB, and TE may be a point of weakness in certain match-ups unless guys step up. This franchise seems to be able to find diamonds in the rough. If they can get back to doing that this season they will return to the top tier of the league and challenge for a playoff spot.
Baker's Chubbin as struggled mightily much of their MFFL career. They have routinely had the opportunity to pick first overall entering the draft slot selection show. The stars of their squad this year are easily their RBs. But similarly to LFB, the rest of the lineup will need others to step up. If Wentz returns to being a top 5 QB then their success chances will spike. The question remains whether or not this team will make the necessary moves in season to garner success.
Game Notes: Monday night will decide the fate of this match-up. LFB is home heavy.
Match-Up Breakdown:
LFB- (++,---,===) Average match-ups though leaning poor.
BC- ( ++,---,===) Average but seemingly better than LFBs
Key Battle: OMG look at these RB match-ups!

Both teams will look to make changes this season, in hopes of reawakening success of old.

Week 1 is upon us. Here week go! Come on!
