Match-up Build-up Week 12 (Rivalry Week)

1. The Perpetual Dynasty vs El Pollo Loco

Four teams in the East currently hold the same number of wins with only a tie separating each of them. While the West has a playoff participant, and a likely other, and two teams still fighting for the playoffs. What an unbelievable year it has been. The final stretch is going to be a kin to the days of the wild west, with everyone fighting for a slice of the pie. It's rivalry week, hold on to your butts.

TPD lost a two point heartbreaker to the Morgans last week. TPD has the most points in the league but currently stands in 6th place. They simply do not win games unless they score a bunch of points. They have not won a game in the MFFL while scoring under 120 points since week 8 of the 2014 season, and have only won scoring under 120 four times in their entire MFFL career. Their poor fortune could keep them out of the playoffs for a 2nd consecutive year.

Loco is also coming off of a heartbreaking loss. They were defeated by LFB, who put up their best point total since week 5. Loco has dealt with crippling injuries and poor circumstances all season. They still have a shot at the playoffs and will no doubt compete as they have done all year.

The match-ups favor Loco as TPD's roster has many difficult ones, but it is rivalry week and expect the unexpected. TPD is averaging 165 ppg in their victories while Loco is averaging 144 in theirs. Expect the winner of this one to have a big point total. Both of these teams have been held back by their inability to win close low scoring games. Maybe it will happen this week.

2. Advantageous Morgans @ The North Remembers

The Morgans are unbelievably tied for the East division lead. What a come back. They escaped with a victory last week in a must win game again TPD and now the heat is on. The Morgans have to be proud to even be in this position and they are going to fight.

TNR is currently in 3rd place even though they are 7th in the league in points scored. It has been a role reversal for this franchise as many times in the past they have been left out of the playoffs while placing in the top end of points scored. They have as good a chance as anyone to make it to the playoffs this year.

3. Tavon and Only @ The Real McCoy

Tavon has lost 3 straight games but remain a top the East division. It is remarkable they are in this position as they have scored the 8th fewest points this season.

McCoy is on a not so unexpected roll having won 4 games in a row. This team of streaks could seal a playoff spot with a win. They will be hoping for more consistent results down the stretch having scored over 130 points only once in their last six games.

4. Pryor to the Snap @ La Flama Blanca

LFB is going to fight until their last breath. Their team finally came to play last week after four straight losses.

5. ShowMeYourTDs @ Unstopa-Bo

UB has clinched a playoff spot. What a year.

Match-up Build-up Week 11

1. Advantageous Morgans @ The Perpetual Dynasty

Good luck finding a single game of the week in one of the most important weeks of an MFFL season ever. Many teams around the league have crucial match-ups in order to keep 2016 playoff hopes alive. It is a must win game for almost every team around the league, as the parody of this season continues to grow. Headlining the mega week will be two hot teams from the East division.

Don't look now but the Morgans have won three straight games, averaging over 130 points per game during that stretch. Unbelievably they are only 1 game back out of the East division lead. Their roster has been sparked by the outstanding play of Mariota and Murray. To even be in this position is a testament to the hard work and dedication of this franchise, but now the Morgans have bigger goals in mind. A win over TPD could propel this team to heights no one thought were possible even just a few weeks ago.

TPD won their 2nd straight game last week in a big match-up against LFB. They are averaging over 143 ppg in their last six contests and their ridiculous schedule has softened each of the last two weeks. They continue to climb out of their early season hole in hopes of closing out strong. They will be without a few big names due to byes this week but others need to step up in their absence. Trying to guess what TPD will do week to week is impossible due to their seemingly endless supply of weird happenstance.

This is a huge game for both squads. Who knows what will happen in this match-up, but The Morgans kick started their season with a strong performance against TPD in the first match-up and TPD hopes to send the Morgans engine into idle in the 2nd contest on Sunday. This is a big one.

2. El Pollo Loco @ La Flama Blanca

Another hugely important game garners the #2 spot for week 11. Loco bounced back last week to acquire their 3rd win in 4 games. It was a big performance considering the players they had on bye. Their season has been limited by injuries but this squad continues to perform and they are right in the thick of it when it comes to playoff positioning. It was stated many weeks ago that this team would be a contender after a slow start and they have validated that claim. They hope to keep it rolling for the final stretch of the season.

LFB has lost 4 games in a row and five of their last 6. Their squad has not been producing at a high clip and their schedule was been hard over the last 4 contests. This team is in dire need of a win. A loss to Loco would be extremely damaging to their playoff aspirations.

3. The North Remembers @ Tavon and Only

Both teams have lost two straight. TNR has had to deal with bye week issues each of the last two weeks and they hope those issues are behind them for week 11. Their roster has not stepped up in the absence of some big names, leading to two poor performances. Even without Gronk potentially this week, their roster looks like it can bounce back this week in a huge match-up against Tavon.

Tavon has fallen hard after a strong mid season stretch and this week they are without M. Ryan and E. Sanders who are on bye, and A. Jeffery due to suspension. This ship is taking on water and Tavon will have to due whatever it takes to keep it afloat. A win against TNR is what it will take to keep the ship from sinking.

4. ShowMeYourTDs @ The Real McCoy

TDs may be 9th in the standings but they are 3rd in points scored. This team could play spoiler down the stretch and quite possibly play for more with the nature of the parody rich East division.

McCoy has gone on a predictable good run after a poor stretch a few weeks ago. This team scores Touchdowns at a great clip and they seem to be getting hot at the right time. Their win last week in the mega match-up against UB was a massive victory and their hopes have been reignited for the stretch run.

5. Pryor to the Snap @ Unstopa-Bo

This is #1 vs #10 but UB has major bye week issues and Pryor is coming off two straight big performances. Do not overlook this match-up.

Match-up Build-up Week 10

1. The Real McCoy @ Unstopa-Bo

It's 1st vs 2nd in the biggest game of the MFFL season so far, making it week 10's top match-up. Ever since the start of week 6, when these teams were a combined (9-1), managers have been itching for this game and now the wait is finally over. McCoy bounced back last week after three straight below average performances and it could not have come at a better time. They exacted revenge against TNR after an early season defeat. It was a balanced performance led once again by D. Brees. As was mentioned last week, this team looks like a team of runs, and a winning stretch could be upcoming with a victory against UB in week 10.

Outside of one poor week UB has played well all season long. Their consistency week to week is bested only by LFB's record of 2014, when they scored at least 120 points in every game during the regular season. Their roster is loaded with guys who have performed each and every week. Barring a massive collapse this team is destined for the playoffs. Just about the only thing that could worry this franchise is the possibility that many of their players best weeks are behind them for this season, a trend which has hampered many elite teams of the past down the stretch, but that's about it.

This game will draw the attention of all managers around the MFFL. McCoy has depth and flexibility with their roster which has allowed them to play the match-ups on their roster over the last couple of weeks. UB has not changed a thing pretty much all season as their starting lineup continues to score points. A few bye weeks will hinder a little but overall these teams are intact and ready to hit the stage for MFFL Primetime Football. Don't buy the value popcorn, this match-up deserves Orville RedenBacker's.

2. La Flama Blanca @ The Perpetual Dynasty

A massive East Division clash is the co-main event for an important week 10 MFFL slate. LFB has lost 4 of 5 in part to their uptick in strength of schedule, but their roster is also struggling to score points. T. Gurley has simply been a 1st round bust while the reliance on players with good floors, but low ceilings has made it difficult to have huge weeks. Still one of the most consistent squads in the league, it would not be surprising to see LFB bounce back in week 10. Their steady production could spell trouble for a team that has been up and down this season.

TPD acquired a massive win last week scoring the 2nd highest point total of the season. Even though TPD is only 6 points away from scoring the most points in the league this season, their team has not performed in a way that garners confidence week to week. They have scored under 100 points three times and are elevated by having the two highest point totals this season. It is looking like their unpredictability could be slowing down, as many players have rounded into form, but the questions regarding this team still remain.

The trend this season has seen the winner of biggest blowout of the week fall hard during their next contest. LFB hopes that trend continues. TPD finally had a team not score 125 against them last week, all it took was that team missing much of their starting lineup due to bye. Still, TPD hopes that trend continues, and for their schedule to soften up down the stretch. This is always one of the best games of the year. Expect lightning with so much at stake.

3. The North Remembers @ El Pollo Loco

TNR could not survive the bye weeks of Brady and Gronk last week. They're back this week but TNR will now be without their top RB and WR. Look for this team to be extremely competitive once their roster is at full potential.

Loco once again lost following a week in which they won biggest blow out. They are without 3 integral players this week in Carr, Cooper, and Riddick. They are hoping others step up in their absence. Loco, along with many teams, needs to keep winning.

This is another huge game. Week 10 of MFFL football is set to explode.

4. Tavon and Only @ ShowMeYourTDs

TDs will look to play spoiler for this one. They are last in the league but have scored the 3rd most points. It's been a brutal season for a team with so much talent. Tavon hopes that talent does not produce in week 10. Tavon is in need of a bounce back win, but they welcome back their starting lineup after massive bye week issues last week.

5. Advantageous Morgans @ Pryor to the Snap

Both teams are coming off big wins, but a loss for either of them is a huge blow to their playoff chances. A win keeps both afloat in the competitive MFFL.

Match-up Build-up Week 9

1. The Real McCoy @ The North Remembers

One of the biggest games of the year is the main attraction for week 9, but not without some question marks. Ever since the return of Tom Brady TNR has not scored under 125 points in any game. Even though the gamble on J. Charles never worked out, they have been rewarded for the gamble on Gronk and Brady. They had a plan in the off season to change the way they constructed teams early in the year and the plan has paid off so far. Unfortunately in week 9 they are without their two most important players due to bye. Their top WR is also hobbled, making their already tough match-up even harder.
McCoy escaped with a victory last week scoring the 3rd lowest point total of the week. Similar to their week one victory there is nothing for them to do other than to be thankful for the win and move forward, though their confidence is in need of an uptick. Their upcoming schedule looks difficult, making their atypical early season victories that much more important. This team seems to go on runs, so an improvement in play can be expected.

This seems to be a good week to play TNR but never doubt them when their backs are against the wall. McCoy will be looking for revenge after their loss early in the year and they need to score points in order to feel confident down the stretch. This match-up is always an MFFL showstopper and week 9 should be no different.

2. La Flama Blanca @ Unstopa-Bo

LFB played pretty well last week considering their bye week issues. They get many players back for a huge week 9 match-up. LFB has not reworked their lineup much at all this year and this looks like the team that they will take into the fire for the final stretch of the season. They put up consistent numbers week to week but they have lacked big game performances since early in the year.

UB were unable to tie the league's longest winning streak of all time after a loss to Loco in week 8. They finally had a team play well against them and it was enough to produce their first loss of the season. UB will hope to get back on track quickly as teams in the West are trying hard to catch up to their early divisional lead.

These are two of the most consistent teams in the league who do not tinker with their lineups, meaning this match-up is guaranteed to be close. Look for the winner to feel great about their long term goals while the loser will quickly look in the rear view mirror to see how close other teams are to pulling next to them.

3. The Perpetual Dynasty @ Tavon and Only

Well if it wasn't official before it certainly is now, TPD is doomed to have teams score points against them almost every week. They lost last week to the Morgans, who scored by far their best point total of the season. Every team to play TPD this season has scored over 125 points except for one. 15 teams have scored over 120 in TPD's last 17 contests. There is simply nothing this franchise can do. They currently sit 3rd in points scored, the same points finish they had last year, but just like last season it's looking like their scoring output won't matter in the face of the devastating onslaught awaiting them each week. If they have any hope of making the playoffs they have to get luckier. It may start this week as Tavon has seemingly their entire starting lineup on bye.

Tavon has won 4 of 5 and is scoring points at a ridiculous rate. Their roster is simply on fire, leading to the top spot in the East division. It has been a successful season after their championship last year, and a win this week, considering the circumstances, would be massive in their hopes of keeping it rolling.

It would be hard to fathom Tavon having enough in this match-up with so many players on bye, but nothing can be taken for granted with the way the league has played TPD each of the last two seasons. This is the first of 2 games between these teams this year and both are important for momentum and divisional hierarchy.

4. El Pollo Loco @ Pryor to the Snap

Loco once again prevented history from being made for an undefeated team in the MFFL. It is becoming their calling card as they consistently end long winning streaks for opposing competition. They've won 4 of 6 and are getting healthier. They still need this win to keep pace in the West division but this team is looking like one that will make waves late in the year.

A 6th straight loss for Pryor was devastating to their playoff chances. They have fallen on hard times since a fast start.

5. ShowMeYourTDs @ Advantageous Morgans

Both teams need a win in order to keep any shot of the playoffs alive.
